Pros: Distinctive styling, room, interior versatility, price after rebate Cons: Awkward proportions, power, handling, seat comfort, interior materials The Bottom Line: The Rendezvous is less a luxurious SUV than a minivan for people who need but hate minivans. Recommended only for those who cannot afford the Honda Pilot.
When Lexus introduced the RX 300 as a 1999 model in the spring of 1998, Detroit took notice. The first luxury SUV based on a car chassis (in its case the Camry), the RX 300 seemed to provide exactly what customers were actually looking for: the looks and ...

Pros: Beautiful styling, part minivan, part SUV and rides like a sedan. Cons: Instrument panel should be upgraded. The Bottom Line: The Rendezvous will give you an excellent ride on the highway and it is certainly one of the best SUV I drove around town.

Pros: Styling, Ride, Seating Versatility, Fun to drive Cons: Low city mileage, Low Horsepower The Bottom Line: The Rendezvous is an excellent suburban SUV. It's not a true all terrain vehicle but it does get you over some tough conditions and look good doing it.
The model purchased was the CXL All Wheel Drive. The Option package (4SD) purchased has Heads Up Display, Tire Inflator Monitor, 16 in Touring tires, Driver Information Center, Premium AM/FM/Cass/CD with equalizer and 8 speakers, 1 year ONSTAR, 3rd row ...

Pros: Excellent carlike ride. Very quite and comfortable. 2003 is Great. Cons: Interior does not meet true Buick luxury and is plasticy The Bottom Line: If you are looking for an SUV but need one that drives like a car, look no further. Great value.
This is a truly fantastic vehicle. The ride is like a luxury car and not only is it smooth but quite too. The car does handle very well and is comfortable. The engine could use a bit more pep but hey, that could be just me (Mr. Lead foot). I did not...

Pros: drives like a car, excellent roomy interior, price is right Cons: trunk space The Bottom Line: A sure winner if you are looking for a bigger vehicle to accommodate your growing family.
Me and my husband decided that we need a bigger vehicle, space-wise. With 4 kids, we were looking for a minivan. We came across the Buick Rendezvous CXL. It has leather interior, and seats 7, which is perfect for us. We even put a DVD player for our kids...

Pros: Safety.
Versatility. Cons: None yet.
This vehicle is comfortable and stable on the road. Living in Michigan, we see all different driving conditions through the year. We bought our Buick in Feb. 04 and immediately fell in love with it. It replaced an 02 Chevy Malibu. Our first week commuting in the Rendezvous, we had terrible snow storms. Our Buick has the All Wheel Drive, which was one of the strong selling points along with the side airbags. On our third day commuting, we witnessed numerous vehicles sliding off the road, and yet the Rendezvous was surefooted with the AWD. A Mercury Mountaineer lost control on the highway coming at us and rolled in the median. The Buick stopped and tracked perfectly in the snowy and icy conditions.
The kids beg to ride in the Buick when we go anywhere.
I have put 4' by 8' plywood sheets that lay down flat in the back. It is a very versatile SUV.

Pros: Has a lot of room for its size. Cons: VERY EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR!!!
This 2003 Buick Rendezvous; drives ok, handles ok, looks ok, is comfortable, BUT VERY EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR! My thermostat went out (only has 53000 miles on it) and it cost ME almost $900.00 to have repaired. It is an internal part and almost cased the heads to warp, that would have been a $2000.00 plus repair. Buick (GMC) knows about this problem and has done NOTHING TO CORRECT IT!

Pros: driving is good, smooth Cons: too expensive to maintain
I bought a brand new 03 Rendezvous when it came out that year, it had 15 km when i took it home, today its jan 8 2007 today and over the last few years I've spent over 15 thousand on repairs from the seat sensor, engine pistons, ball bearings, the heater system, everything you can manage oh yeah recently the front wiper went that was 500 bucks and some, the cars a good car if you can afford it. I take the car every month to GM for oil changes and tune ups, i leased the car and wanted to return it so i had to go 2 GM for everything, its build quality is really really poor, maybe this years the bad model because I see a lot of them on the road

Pros: Great on winter roads, comfortable seating, rides better than a mini van. Cons: Rides rough after 30,000 miles, finding mechanical defaults after 42,000 miles
Not sure I can honestly recommend this vehicle...I loved it in the beginning but now at 42,000 miles my wheel bearings and brakes need to be replaced. I can almost justify the brakes but NOT the wheel bearings. I feel that this car is going to "nickel and dime" me to death.

Don't Buy a Used Rendezvous!

Pros: All the bells and whistles--look good Cons: poor suspension design; awkward front console design; too many expensive repair issues
I bought an '04 Rendezvous on impulse--my bad! Looks good inside and out, but an absolute nightmare to keep up with repairs. Bought used at 40,000 miles have replaced:
Brakes (my cost)
Ball bearing (still under warranty at the time)
Rear knuckles (not covered--had to fight Buick to get them to cover half)
Flat tire--had to be towed because the under-the-vehicle spare tire assembly had corroded and couldn't be released
And now ... my AWD/disc breaks light is coming on whenever I hit a bump in the road (then turns off when I turn off the car)
I've only owned this a year!!!

Forget a minivan

Pros: it's a buick, reliable, fairly economical, looks pimp inside and out, impeccable ride quality Cons: needs a sports package
My mom bought a Rendevous when they first came out. Originally she was looking at a caravan, and an odessy. She was driving a 95 century before and decided to stay loyal to buick. As a liberal who doesn't like the fact that more than half of the cars on American roads are gas guzzling trucks many of which are SUVs my mom refers to the Rendevous as her guilty pleasure. I don't know why everyone complains about power, I think that the 3.4 v6 is more than needed for a "minivan but not really". Although the car she test drove was base level, for the 24 hr test drive they sent her home with captains chairs, leather, flasy wheels, pretty much the works for the cx model. 35,000 miles and no problems.

Pros: Spacious; Luxurious for the price; AWD option is AWESOME; handles great Cons: Not for larger (obese) people with big bellies; Might need seatbelt extension.
Hubby and I recently bought a used 2003 model with 27k miles and LOVE it!
Our Rendezvous is macked out with options I'd never even heard of before (Heads Up).
The roominess is awesome, we have a 3rd row seat, with that, we can fit 4 adults, 2 kids.
The AWD is great, we've taken it out on snow and ice several times and it handles much better than anything either of us has driven before.
No cons so far. I HIGHLY recommend this vehicle!
Some options we have:
Dual Climate Control
Heads Up Display
Power Sunroof
Homelink System
Third Row Seat
Passenger Climate Control
Rear Window Wipers
Heated mirrors
Onstar
Leather
Heated Seats (OMG, for pregnant women, this is AWESOME)
AWD
Power EVERYTHING
Memory Seats (this is GREAT!)
Side Air Bags

Pros: spacious, comfortable, gas mileage (compared to other SUV's), appearance, safety ratings, huge middle consloe. Cons: It feels like the drivers seat should go farther back...
Nice and roomy, I have the CXL model with leather interior and optional 3rd row seat we make tons of cross country road trips, the space is great. I bought it used with 30,000 miles and it now has 48,000 and so far no mechanical issues. The brakes squeaked a little but put some silcone stuff (from Autozone) on and haven't had any issues since.
