Pros: durable, reliable, versatile
Cons: due for an update, underpowered V6
The Bottom Line: Hmmm. To buy a 2003? or to wait for the updated 2004s - that is the question...

OK, so I was marshalling the resources to write my review of the Ford F-150 pickup I was driving the other day. I picked up an official Ford brochure, tried to make some sense out of my notes, did a little research at ford.com - at which point I found mys ...

Bigger, Faster, Stronger ? The 2003 Ford F150 SuperCrew Truck

by jo.com Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 10
Oct 28 '03 - Updated Nov 17 '03

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 3.0 Recommended: No

Pros: Lumbar support, tows 7,000 pounds, lots of standard features, steers well.
Cons: Felt the bumps, doesn't accelerate well-can't imagine towing 7,000 pounds!
The Bottom Line: I can't recommend this truck. In theory it has great potential. In reality, in my opinion it doesn't live up to it.

While my 1999 BMW 323is was being serviced I was given a rental for 24 hours via En terprise. In spite of my previous bad experience, this young man was very nice (Al ...

Pros: Powerful, easy and fun to drive
Cons: Poor Seat material, back wheels spin easily can make it dangerous
The Bottom Line: Good Hard working, reliable, dependable truck! Will last a life time!

INTRO Trucks, you either love them or you hate them! Me? I love them. Trucks in England are extremely rare, if you did own one it would be almost impossible to afford to run one! I wanted a truck so bad! When i moved to Oklahoma, i could not believe ...

Pros: Excellent ride for a truck, roomy, roomy, roomy, fun to drive, functional, durable
Cons: gas mileage, no bed extender, mushy brakes update 09/2003 4.6 needs more UUUMMMPH
The Bottom Line: This is a great functional truck. I would really recommend to home owners with children. Perfect for fully loaded road trips.

When the demands of family life outweigh the number of seats in your regular cab pickup what can you do? TRADE UP!!! This is my second ford truck. In fact I would say that this is close to my dream truck. My wife and I looked at the Taurus Wagon, the ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Streamline styling, Decent Hwy mileage,
Cons: 4.6 Liter V8 power, Passenger seat leg room, Transmission
The Bottom Line: So, far good reliablity, and seems to point in the direction of bing that way for a while. 4.6 v8 smooth, but needs more umph.

I have owned a 2003 F150 Super Crew for a little more than a year and a half, and have about 14,000 miles on it. I am pleased with it, but I am not thrilled with it at the time. EXTERIOR Not much to say here, unless you live outside of North America ...

2003 F150 Supercrew; an owner's perspective

by brettsvette
Aug 18 '03 - Updated Sep 06 '06

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Room to carry a family; Versatile. Comfortable, well designed interior.
Cons: Somewhat stiff ride; Not a gas mileage superstar; bottom bumping exhaust pipes.
The Bottom Line: Trouble free during our time with this truck (almost one year). Not a towing heavy weight..go to 3/4 ton and up for that kind of duty.

Recently, I found a gently (653 miles) used 2003 F150 Supercrew XLT 2WD with 4.6 V8 and a few nice options at a Chevrolet dealer's lot in Houston, Texas. The full sized 4 door truck appealed to me as a suitable alternative to a big SUV, due to the ...

This truck is great if you like walking.

by wilson0423
Jul 25 '08

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 2.0 Recommended: No

Pros: It brakes well and there is probably something else, but it escapes me.
Cons: V8 engine is too small, mechanical issues and I've driven riding mowers that accelerate better.
The Bottom Line: All the Ford lovers will hate me, but I have not enjoyed this vehicle. Plagued with mechanical issues and poor acceleration. I cannot recommend this to anyone.

Sorry to offend any Ford owners out there and maybe I have just have a bad one, but I have had nothing but trouble with this truck, from electrical issues to the transmission going out at 37,500 miles. Do not get me wrong, this is used as a police ...

My wonderful truck!

Pros: There are NONE!
Cons: No c.d player, small truck bed, not roomy, mechanical problems tends to tip over
I have a F150 Supercrew, and I have had it for three years and
I absolutely hate it. When I go on vacations their is no room for my 5 children and dog but since I don't like vans, this truck was my next option, I hate how it rides.I have been to the mechanic countless times. First it was the alignment, then the transmission, and now I have to fix some electrical problems it is having. I don't know if this is all F150s but mine is totally worthless. I would not recommend this truck to anyone, unless you want to spend thousands fixing it like I had to. Another problem I had with this truck is that the bed is so small you can barely fit anything in there. Of course the newer trucks now have more cargo room and still maintain room inside, so I guess it's a bit ironic that I had to get a 2003 F150. You are probably thinking that I have a worthless piece of junk but I do, but I cant complain, hey it gets my 5 children to school right?

Pros: Rides better than some cars
Cons: Back doors are very hard to open when in a parking lot
This is not the pickup truck I remember from being a kid. It rides smooth, even when towing trailers. There do not appear to be any more kinks then any new car I have gotten. It has excellent pickup and overall is great to drive.

Pros: Almost silent ride, compares to high end vehicles.
Cons: Rims, water doesn't drain from them when washed. Cup holder located at the panel vent.
Surprisingly quiet inside, a pleasure to drive with the radio turned off. Acceleration is fantastic, and turn off the overdrive and wave to the people you pass. This truck eats speed bumps for lunch. Off road the F-150 handles like a pro, suspension and clearance is great.

Pros: I love the ride, quietness, responsive handling...and the four full-size doors!
Cons: Costs $60 per tank of gasoline right now. Plus my grandkids want it!!
2WD, XLT, all usual extras plus 6-CD changer w/ premium sound, nav syst, bed liner, tow package, 22" wheels. It's quiet, smooth, can snap your head back on takeoff and stops easily on a dime (maybe a quarter). has custom grill and power everything, including electronic variable range brake and accelerator pedals (never saw this feature on any car before, but it's quite handy for changing driver positions w/o having to completely readjust the seat). It came with a Flowmaster exhaust system (sounds really gooood). This vehicle was lowered slightly and is extremely easy to get in and out of. It's a beautiful burgundy w/tan interior. We'll use this vehicle for pleasure, won't tow more than about 4,000 pounds, and it's cargo will mainly be people and golf clubs/equipment. We also have a 1999 Chevy Blazer (work vehicle), a 2001 Camaro (speedy little critter) and my 1979 Lincoln Mark V with 66,778 original miles. Love 'em all and they each have their own special appeal.
