Pros: Price, exterior and interior styling, luxurious feel, long warranty Cons: Power, light steering, compact interior, minor live axle jitters The Bottom Line: If you want a stylish, truck-based SUV, the Sorento is a good value. But for 2006 if faces stiff competition from the redesigned Suzuki Grand Vitara.
Usually when I test drive a vehicle I already know a great deal about it. With the Kia Sorento I did not. I had some assumptions. For example, I assumed that the Sorento was related to Kias minivan, the ...

Pros: Captivating styling; well-suited engine; maneuverability around town; leather and luxury are inexpensive Cons: Sub-par gas mileage; as-yet undetermined reliability; live rear axle overcompensates for road imperfections The Bottom Line: The Sorento is a great buy at any price, considering the amenities, looks, and performance. But, you may pay at the gas pump in the long run.
Well, my wife and I have owned our Kia Sorento for about two months now. Considering the low resale value of the Sorento (probably due to Kia's not-so-stellar reputation), along with the numerous amenities included in the EX version we bought (leather ...

Pros: Plenty of power, Among the quietest SUV's at speed, True 4WD capability, Looks Upscale! Cons: No third row seat, No memory for seats and mirrors, Mileage could be better The Bottom Line: This vehicle deserves a good long look if you want what promises to be great value, great capability, and a pleasurable driving experience from your next SUV!
Kicking Tires: Anybody who has read my other auto reviews knows that I'm a "car guy" to the core! Well, this time it's personal ... I've been shopping around for about a year now for the perfect SUV to park in my garage and I found it! The ...

Pros: Attractive SUV at a reasonable price Cons: Terrible warranty service from dishonest dealership, more than expected vehicle problems The Bottom Line: Terrible customer service combined with regular problems over time, and the lack of support for the warranty makes me rate this vehicle as Not Recommended.
This review was extremely positive originally, but I have been forced to update my review. This goes to show you that you cannot judge a vehicle after owning it only briefly. Problems tend to reveal themselves over time, not in the first week. So ...

Pros: Smooth, quiet, the most bang for the buck in the SUV market. Cons: Could be a bit longer, would like a diesel and manual transmission option. The Bottom Line: There is no need to pay more for something when the Sorento will meet or exceed your expectations for less.
I bought my Sorento in December 02. I bought the 4x4 EX, with the luxury package and tow package.
I traded in a 2000 KIA Sportage in on the Sorento and so I had prior KIA experience. My Sportage was a 4x4 EX that never gave me any...

My wife and I spent quite a few months test driving different SUV's. We seemed to be getting nowhere fast in our search for the SUV that would best suit our purpose. Those we had looked at were, Hyundia Santa Fe, Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, Saturn ...

Pros: Fit and Finish, Quiet Smooth Ride, Comfortable Seats (front and rear) Cons: Gas mileage could be better, but not bad for an SUV of this weight. The Bottom Line: Solid Vehicle - do not be scared away by the Kia name plate. The Sorento is Toyota quality at a Kia price.
I have a 03 Kia Sorento EX for my company vehicle, which I was allowed to pick out based on the company's price allowance. So I was looking for bang for the buck. The Sorento delivers on that point. Most of the folks as work laughed when I told them ...

Pros: I bought it, so it must be nice! Cons: Could handle better around curves The Bottom Line: If you buy a Sorento, go all the way. Get the luxury package, you will love it.
Let me start this review by saying I am picky.
I looked at several SUVs before making my decision. I did not like the Liberty Jeep because it reminded me of someone driving through the woods and I did not like the tire in the back. The Sante...

Pros: Stylish and sporty with all the extras for $5-10K less than competition Cons: So far, only the gas mileage. Update 12/15/2003: over time gas mileage now almost 20mpg! The Bottom Line: If you want a fully-loaded luxury SUV, and don't require a 3rd row of seats, check out the Sorento. It's very well built and costs thousands less than closest competitor.
The first vehicle we test drove before buying a new SUV was the Sorento. Because of its total package (warranty, styling, luxury package, etc.) and affordable pricing, we set it as the standard for all others to beat. Next, we test drove the GMC ...

The Bottom Line: Forget about dropping loads of cash for a great SUV...give KIA a shot and you won't regret the decision!
I have owned my Kia Sorento since February 2003, and can't stop scratching my head at how a company could hit a home run while launching its first SUV! I've never owned a large truck, but am a veteran of quality-made vehicles: I've owned a Toyota, a ...

Pros: Comfortable Cons: Warranty games with Kia, electrical, gas mileage The Bottom Line: Do not waste you money! You will spend a lot of time trying to get it fixed.
I am sorry to those that say that "Kia...that is supposed to be a great vehicle...aren't they the ones with the really long warranty??" Beware....There is a reason for the very long warranty -- you will NEED it! We have owned a 2003 Kia Sorento from new ...

Pros: Price, Ride, Handling, EVERYTHING!! Cons: A little slow The Bottom Line: Buy this SUV if you are looking for Lexus style and quality, without spending the Lexus price.
WE have had our 03 Sorento for about 3 months now and we love it. We have been getting about 20 mpg, so I think it depends on how you driver it. I am not heavy on the gas pedal because I know that it is not the fastest on the street. Other then that I ...

Pros: Price, REAL 4x4, features, not-too-big, not-too-small Cons: status, ackward folding rear seats, ? The Bottom Line: To get anything as capable as the Sorento, you would have to spend at least $10,000 more than the $25,000 it costs to get one fully loaded.
After researching just about every SUV on the market, I settled on the KIA because it, for the price, it was impossible to beat. It has a real truck frame, advanced 4 wheel drive and almost every option available in a passenger car (no factory DVD or...
