The 2003 Lincoln Navigator - An American that Looks Foreign

by invincible101
Oct 17 '08

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Amount of options, lovely exterior, heavily refined interior, blast to drive and head turning abilities
Cons: Gas guzzling ability hurts the wallet...
The Bottom Line: It is recommended that anyone in search for the ultimate high end Luxury SUV, look up the Navigator and your search will definately be over.

The history lesson begins, the Navigator was first debut in 1997 as a 1998 model. At first glance it was just like Ford's Expedition, just a bit more done up on the exterior and interior. The Navigator was doubted by the public for a while because no one ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 3.0 Recommended: No

Pros: Every bell and whistle imaginable, the backup sensor alarm is amazing, smooth ride
Cons: Gas hog, gets 9 miles to the gallon, loose steering, cramped leg room
The Bottom Line: I would not recommend this vehicle. Try going for the Lexus LX470 or Ford Expedition.

I had been looking for a SUV for a couple of months. I drove everything! We're talking the Volvo XC90, Infiniti FX35 and FX45, BMW X5 (3.0 and 4.4i), Escalade, Volvo Touareg, Lexus RX330, Lexus GX470, Lexus LX470, Toyota 4Runner, Toyota Sequoia, Toyota ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: much improved interior and handling, lots of space, cool gadgets, and sleek styling
Cons: fuel economy, even though it has 300 hp...its not enough, some cheap interior materials, expensive
The Bottom Line: A world class Suv in search of more power...

FINALLY! Up until the 2003 Lincoln Navigator was introduced to dealerships in June... buyers wanting a big domestic luxury suv either could choose the seriously aging last generation Lincoln Navigator or the greatly improved 2002 Caddilac Escalade. Back...

Pros: power running boards, power liftgate, power folding third row
Cons: No extended model avaible, more power for the engine
The Bottom Line: Great S.U.V more refine and luxurious than the Escalde and a better looking one as well.

The 2003 Lincoln Navigator, my mother recently bought one at a local lincoln dealership. When I first saw it I felt in love with it, but when I drove it I was just attach. It is the most exquisite vehicle in the world. So much space and quietness. Some...

This SUV is a rust bucket!

by gsage
Dec 05 '07

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 1.0 Recommended: No

Pros: NONE, I cannot think of good to say about this vehicle.
Cons: GAS HOG, RUST BUCKET, POORLY DESIGNED, INFERIOR WORKMANSHIP AND MATERIALS.
The Bottom Line: High maintenance, lousy gas mileage.

I Leased the vehicle in 2005. It was still under warranty when the back door showed signs of rust coming through the paint on the back door. A representative from FORD inspected the door and had it replaced at no charge. At the same time we complained ...

The Lincoln Navigator - THE KING

by rahul-k
Dec 29 '08

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Beautiful interior and exterior design, convenient and helpful functions, and the ultimate driving experience
Cons: The gas tank (106 litres!) thats a lot of money...
The Bottom Line: The Lincoln Navigator is the best you could get because it lives upto it's name because it does help you throughout nasty road situations.

I have always been a fan of large, sophisticated SUVs that combined the styling of a luxury sedan with the power of a sports car. The presence of a large luxury SUV really dominates basically any scene you can think of. They are the most "dressed up" ...

Pros: Everything from the Interior to the Exterior to the Engine.
Cons: Could be improved speedwise.
The Bottom Line: It has the best interior, and exterior ever, and is like an airplane while driving.

When you hear the word Lincoln you automatically think Limosines, and luxury vehicles. Well now you got all of that mixed into one vehicle. The brand new 2003 Lincoln Navigator was redesigned from the previous design. The Lincoln Navigator now feels like ...

A Great Luxury SUV
by obx560
Jan 29 '04
Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes
Pros: Quiet cabin, Good ride and handling, Strong V-8, many options
Cons: Third Row bench seat not to comfortable for adults
The 2003 Lincoln Navigator is completely redesigned. It comes with a powerful V-8 engine. It has fully independent suspension. The cabin of the SUV is very quiet. The ride and handling are better then the previous model years. Inside you will be amazed at how nice this SUV really is. It has a great Navigation System. Where many luxury SUV's take premium fuel the Navigator takes regular. It is better than average on snowy roads.

Lincoln Navigator 2004 Ultimate!
by navigator04
Dec 12 '05
Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes
Pros: Elegant styling, lots of awesome features, easy navigation system
Cons: FUEL Economy is TERRIBLE!
This SUV is truly the king of the Road. After owning an Escalade 2002 for about 2 years I traded it in for the Navigator. The Navigator feels a lot heavier than the Escalade but in my opinion the steering is tighter in the Nav. The interior is much nicer in the Navigator as well, however if you are looking for MPG forget it....I average only 10 or 11 mpg...and thats on a good day. I have had a few problems...rear end noise...shaking front end...and a few other misc problems...but overall it's been very reliable...and most of all I feel safe driving it.

"SURPRISED!!! -THIS IS NOT MY 1998 NAVIGATOR"
by orderdesk
Mar 31 '04
Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 2.0 Recommended: No
Pros: 1) FOLD DOWN REAR SEATS 2) AUTOMATIC LIFT GATE 3) BETTER TIRES
Cons: 1)NOISY CABIN 2)RUSTY UNDERCARRIAGE 3)NO ELBOW RESTS 4)NO CASSETTE 5)EASILY SCRATCHING INTERIOR 6)CHEAP LEATHER
Just purchased a 2003 Navigator after trading in my 1998. Firstly, the 1998 Navigator was one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. Other than a spark plug issue at the beginning, Bad factory tires (Continental) and some suspension problems this vehicle was a 10!

As for the 2003 model: *Purchased from Ford Canada to save the depreciation ($51,000cdn vs $74,000cdn with 26,000kms)

We purchased this model basically because of the "Power controlled fold down seat option" (all the back seats fold down) as the '98 had very awkward seats that were hard to remove (back) and the front seats did not fold. As for the 2003 (already had to repair the air conditioning unit) I must say I am very surprised with the pros vs. the cons...NEXT TIME IN WILL BE THE LEXUS LX470 MORE MONEY BUT THE QUALITY AND VALUE IS NOT IN THE LINCOLN.
