Pros: Optical - can be used anywhere; Two more buttons. Cons: Pricey.
This is the magic mouse. It works anywhere you put it. It has control beyond anything else mankind has ever seen. This mouse has made my work that much easier for me to finish. Since I've started using it, I've increased my productivity...

Pros: Nice to look at, very comfortable, lots of buttons... Cons: A little picky about the surface, more pricey than it should be..
This is the second Microsoft optical mouse that I have purchased for home use; and this is what I have to say about it:
I purchased this mouse about a week ago to replace the Logitech one that I had purchased not long before. I returned the...

Pros: 100% smooth, accurate, and comfortable Cons: NONE
This mouse is bar far the best mouse I have ever used, and I have used several. My last mouse was a Logitech Cordless Mouseman+. It was nice not having a cord, but being cordless did not make up for its shortcomings. My biggest problem with that...

Pros: No mouse ball to clean, smooth movement, wheel and extra buttons Cons: Tendency to double click, occasional tracking problem
Don't you just hating having to clean the mouse ball and rollers in your mouse every couple of days just in order to get smooth movement with your mouse? If so, then this mouse is a godsend.
Using an LED and light sensor, this mouse tracks...

Pros: eliminates mouse pad, needs no cleaning, extra buttons, precision Cons: size, cost
A fourteen day struggle with my 'next day service' computer company had finally produced a working computer except for the mouse. The company claimed a new mouse would be delivered the following Monday, but who believed that? Besides, I wanted to...

Pros: Smooth and accurate tracking, extra back and forward buttons which can be reprogrammed using Intellipoint, neat red glow, bragging factor (hey, I got an Intellimouse Optical! NYEH!) Cons: accidentally clicking back and forward buttons, tracking while recentering, red glow can be annoying at first, possibly shape, translucent mouseing surface may not work with it
I bought an Intellimouse Optical the other day. So far, it's pretty much better than my old Intellimouse.
It's optical: no mouse ball needed. It used a red LED (that's always on when your box is on) to sense movement and move the cursor that way....

Pros: Amazingly accurate, smooth movements and comfortable to hold, and has a 5 year warranty. Cons: I wish there was a cordless version...
In slightly less than 5 years, I've had 'em all...Trackballs (built-in to a laptop, and free-standing for a desktop) a Touchpad, and several mice. My one wish was to find a device that was sensitive and precise enough to navigate the screen without fits...

Pros: Works on any surface, USB or PS2 connector, 4 programmable buttons, scroll wheel, ergonomic and comfortable, cool lit up effect. Cons: Only 3 of the 4 buttons are convenient for everyday use.
I have always loved Microsoft's ergonomic input devices, starting from their Natural keyboard line to their mice that fit right into your palm. When my 3 year old MS mouse finally broke down (it must have had tens of thousands of miles on its odometer)...

Pros: No More Hairballs, Comfortable Shape, Five-Button Features Cons: Soft Center Wheel
In the interest of complete reviewer bias disclosure, this will be a bit different than most of the reviews of Microsoft's IntelliMouse Optical for two reasons. First, I'm not a techie, I'm a user ... so all the 1,500 per second scan rate and such won't...

Pros: 5 programmable buttons, scroll wheel, no more gunked up mouseball Cons: More expensive than the free one I had before
I really like this mouse. I was tired of always cleaning out the mouse ball and wheels inside. They always are clogging up with crud and then the mouse starts jerking around and then all accuracy is gone.
With the optical tracking this mouse...

Pros: no moving parts, works as advertised Cons: a bit pricy, installation failed on first try
For years I have kept a nail file near my computers so that I could scrape the dirt off the rollers of my mice. No more, now I can retire the nail file and the nasty mouse pad.
What can you say about something that just works? This...

Pros: Gee Whiz Factor, Web Buttons Cons: Cost
You’ve seen the ads. On one page there’s a picture of a computer mouse captioned “Area 51” and on the next page there’s another picture of the same mouse encaptioned “Studio 54”. Sexy! Leave it to Microsoft, those masters of marketing, to create a...

Pros: precise, ergonomic, easy to install Cons: software supports all Microsoft devices, not too good on photo or glass surfaces
I have been a long-time fan of Microsoft mice. So when my old Microsoft IntelliMouse died on me (it still hurts to think about it), I went out to get another Microsoft mouse. Also being a great fan of technology, I saw that Microsoft ditched the rubber...

Pros: Smooth action (excellent for games)
No ball/rollers to clean
extra buttons
good Windows drivers Cons: side buttons could be accidentally pressed
tail light could be annoying
I admit. I caved into the hype of the new optical mice. After reading so many favorable reviews, I was excited to get my hands on one after so long.
When the Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer came out more than a year ago, I had a chance to...

Pros: Easy setup, extremely functional, cool red glow. Cons: Price (That MUCH for a MOUSE!!)(...But still worth it)
Of all products, I never thought I would find myself reviewing a mouse. After all, these things are pretty basic, aren't they? Just point, click, point, click...you get the idea. No rocket science here.
But then along comes the...
