A Portable Web Computer

by mjbresolin , Feb 24 '00
Pros: Sleek, powerful, versatile
Cons: Was expensive, but prices have dropped
I had a Palm III for years and liked it. This Christmas my wife gave me a Palm Vx. It changed my entire experience of the Palm! First, the screen quality is great. Next, Hotsyncs are fast, even Avantgo loads quickly, and I now have over 800k in...

Not service at all

by lucho , Mar 28 '00
Pros: lots of memmory
Cons: No service in Europe
Product have no real support, just automatic e-mail responses.
No service in Europe, no AC international power supply provided, you have to buy an extra US$ 50 to get one.

Better screen than the Palm III, no interchangeable features with...

Wow is this great or what

by Tigerf16 , Jan 03 '00
Pros: high memory battery recharges in minutes
Cons: battery doesn't last that long
3COM outdid themselves on this one. Unlike the CE devices, this is fast and smooth moving between apps. I cant live without it. Fits nicely in my shirt pocket. With 8 megs, I can load up several novels (Aportis), webpages (AvantGo), and my whole address...

Run away. . . Don't look back. . .

by tomart , Dec 21 '99
Pros: small, faster than the last version, loads of (non-technical)software
Cons: Way overpriced for the package, not as fast as it could be, entirely too little memory
When they sell these things for $75 (what all of my engineer-geek friends and I believe them to be worth) then I will gladly endorse them. As it is, we ordered a dozen just to try out at work (Boeing Aerospace), and a third of them were dead out of the...

The best Palm on the market

by tran80047 , Dec 14 '99
Pros: Light, Big Memory, easy to use
Cons: None
I have tried several handheld including: Compaq, and Philips. I did not like them at all. I finally tried Palm V-x. I love it so much. The first thing I like it because it is so thin with metal protection cover. Secondly, It has a 8MB memory so I can...

Vx and Omnisky is THE COMBO!

by jazon , Feb 11 '01
Pros: Sleek design, wireless WAP capability thru Omnisky, and Syncs with Lotus Organizer.
Cons: Limited 8MB max. No room for upgrade. Not in color. Lacks USB connection.
I've had the Vx since it was introduced. In fact, I've recommended the Vx to many of my friends and collegues. It offers 8MB of memory which you'll need once you begin to add applications and other accessories.

I've had no problems connecting...

Idiot Proof

by Boehssp , Dec 21 '99
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Couldn't transfer Access files to the address book
What a great tool. I purchased the Palm Vx for my wife. She has little computer experience and I wouldn't consider her technologically literate at all. The palm has saved me. I no longer have to print email for my wife she can read it form her palm....

Full featured, yet, not!

by cpuboy , Jan 31 '01
Pros: very full featured. Large amount of memory.
Cons: Expensive. Still only monochrome!
There is no doubt that the palm Vx looks a whole lot nicer than those that have come before it, but are looks everything? Well, it also only weighs in at about 4 Oz., which is not much at all. The exact dimensions are : 4.5" x 3.1" x 0.4". It is...

CE what I told you?

by Sbarshow , Dec 14 '99
Pros: Small and easy to use
Cons: Compatibility sucks
I went out and bought the vx just to have that little extra. But recently a Good friend showed me his CE machine. Thought it is small and ease of use is great. I much rathered have settled with the competition. I do think that the more computer...

by star693 , Sep 24 '02
Pros: high quality, wonderful product
Cons: none
I spent a lot of time shopping for a PDA in my quest to organize my life and replace my paper planner. In fact reading epinions was part of my research, and there were so many people recommending the palm vx, that I bought it.

This is a great...

Do you people really need this ???

by Kavon , Jan 28 '00
Pros: Slim and Portable, Tons of Memory
Cons: Too Much Money, Overrated
On the market right now are these little outrageously priced things called Palms. What a palm is is a personal digital assistant. Basically it is the most advanced for of electronic datebook there is out on the market. However like I said this little...

Lousy customer service

by walleyebill , Jan 22 '01
Pros: Have used for 3 months; holds lots of data; hotsync works great.
Cons: Reliability; product support
I purchased my Palm Vx in late October from Amazon.com. The unit worked for a little more than two months before experiencing a hardware failure. Upon contacting Palm I was advised a replacement unit would be sent in 3-5 business days. When the unit did...

Great, .........but................

by raper1 , Nov 27 '00
Pros: 8mb memory, sleek, quick charging
Cons: feels outdated already without internet like VIIx
This is a great tool, can't live without my Palm. But I've retired my Vx for a VIIx.
The Palm Vx does everything but most of all it's sleek, fits into my pants pocket (I have a hard flip-open case for it)and the software selection is great.

by KrYpToNiX , Sep 23 '00
Pros: good look, good everything
Cons: expensive
The good: Most RAM in a Palm organizer; svelte design.

The bad: Expensive.

The bottom line: This is the sleekest, most powerful Palm organizer yet.

3Com's new Palm Vx looks and feels identical to its predecessor,...

Why spend a thousand dollars to take notes at college or work?

by khumalo , Jan 20 '03
Pros: Still a great option for OS users, accessories are dirt cheap right now.

I recently paid the following for a New Palm Vx:

100.00 for a new Palm Vx on Overstock.com
19.99 for a new keyboard for a Palm Vx on palm.com
3.00 for a hard case for my Palm Vx on half.com
3.00 for a leather case for my Palm on...
