Pros: Great customizability, Good performance, Great features Cons: Can screw up your entire PC royally, Gaping security holes
Last month our Pentium II 400 PC at work started having some SERIOUS problems. As the days went by it just went slower... and slower... and s l o w e r... until our K6 166 in the next room became a speed demon by comparison. It felt like we were running...

Pros: Free Cons: Yet another poorly implemented program that is more marketing than substance
Aside from being a geek, I make web pages for a living. As a consequence of this I need multiple browsers to test my work on. So Microsoft has caused me no end of headaches with their dodgy coding that only allow one version of Internet Explorer to be...

Pros: Extremely fast, intuitive handling, tons of improvements Cons: None so far
Finally – it’s here. And how… WOW!!!
This is the first time Microsoft’s products keep the promise. The stakes were high, the expectation even higher and the tension massive. The result? What a browser!!!
If you are...

Pros: best features, free, best look and feel Cons: none
And the browser war's winner is..
..if not clear in the last release (MSIE 4) then it is clear at latest now: the winner in the war of PC web browsers is Microsoft's IE 5.
I have seen many people, some real hardliners, switching from...

Pros: Customizable, Multi-tasking is no problem Cons: It doesn't go away without reformatting the hard drive
Eons ago, my internet life started with Netscape and I was convinced it was the better of the two browsers. I've been using Internet Explorer at work for a year now and at home for the last two months.
A Bulb Goes Off
I'm not sure...

Pros: It's pretty much the only game in town. Cons: I dunno--I'd like to see a ROUND browser, maybe.
Since IE and Netscape are basically the Coke and Pepsi of browsers, I can't offer much in basis of comparison. I've used them both extensively and although Netscape certainly has its share of good points, I always come back to IE. Although I'd be...

Pros: Free Cons: Security holes
And over the near term future, I am going to determine how many things I can move off of Windows, and onto Linux via replacement software, or WINE (Windows Emulation). You may be wondering why? Is it related to the exhorbiant hardware requirements that...

This release is the browser we've all been waiting for: one that is stable, fast, compatible, easy to install, and has a lot of new features to help us all get our Internet work done. IE users range from working Mothers just browsing the net checking...

Pros: Personal customization of toolbars Cons: May be slower than Netscape
Edited June 28, 2004. ===================== With technology, things change at an extremely quick pace. You may be Number 1 today, but tomorrow, you can easily fall to Number 2. It's been a very long time since I last wrote this review on the IE 5 ...

Pros: It works Cons: Clunky, resource hog, many annoying features
I've been using IE for about 2 months now, and while I'm resigned to it, I'm not sure I'll ever like it. I used Netscape for years, but finally gave up when it just wouldn't stop crashing, no matter how many times I uninstalled and reinstalled it. (See...

I have been using Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 and “Internet Tools” since they were first released to members of the Microsoft Site Developer’s Network in the summer of 1998. I can honestly say, right from the start, I liked it much...

Pros: Very good compatibility, fast and few problems. Cons: IE uses lots of disk space for speed, redrawing pages. And beware of MS safety holes!
I hate to say this, but I ought to admit that so far IE really beats Netscape. As a web designer, I don't really care which browser is to be used, which company is going bankruptcy because of which company. What I do care is Standard.
