Pros: free internet service Cons: Juno makes claims to your computer time outside of the internet
Internet privacy has become a major issue in the recent past. People who use the internet have become increasingly concerned with what companies will do with the information you give them when you sign up for their service. This has led most internet...

Pros: None Cons: Bait and switch; they may be putting bugs in your computer
Readers familiar with my writing may know that I use AOL as my main Internet Service Provider. (goodbye)
But since I needed a back-up for times my AOL was logging me off so regularly I couldn't use it at all, I signed up for Juno's Free...

Pros: Free, but with some catches Cons: Unreliable, Limited hours, Too many conditions
Juno was the ancient queen of the heavens and wife of Jupiter, but Juno the internet service provider is no goddess. Juno is a wicked witch . In fact Juno prodded this eternal and infernal tightwad to switch to a pay ISP, not once but twice....

Pros: It's free. Email is easy. Cons: Slow connections, pop-ups, random disconnections, free service users can only access during very limited hours.
So a few months ago, I was unpacking boxes after a recent move and found a shrink-wrapped Juno 4.0 CD still in perfect condition. I have no idea how I got the disc, but seeing as how a few years ago you couldn’t buy software without being...

With the amount of Free Service Providers dwindling, I set out to find a replacement for my backup provider, AltaVista. Little did I know, it would be a long journey indeed!
This is for version 4, build 11. There is a new Juno v5 on the...

Pros: Has always been accessible thus far; the e-mail is simple and effective Cons: Horrible lag time; annoying and slow banners; an additional screen required to be open in addition to the banner; can be extremely slow
Quite a long time ago, I took advantage of Juno's free e-mail. I was very satisfied with it and kept it as a back up in case I ever had problems accessing my internet service provider (ISP). I found the e-mail very easy to use and virtually problem...

Pros: fairly fast, a little less intrusive Cons: becoming more instrusive, kicks off frequently
For months, I thought Juno had the best free internet service on the internet. I guess the bigger they are, the harder they fall. And Juno is just barely hanging on to any claims of respectability now. This industry is suffering through a hard time,...

Pros: free, Cons: banner ads, browser automatically pops up, 'heavy user' after only 2 hours of use
I am a woman on a mission. My mission: to find the perfect free ISP. I know, I know. Free ISP's are nothing compared to those that are paid for. But I have a goal to realize (I want to be financially secure enough to be able to quit my job in November of...

Pros: Free.... uh, that's about it. Cons: Free but you'll still pay for it with spam and limited access
Okay, I said it before and I'll say it again. The Internet should be free. Of course, with all the "free ISPs" drowning in red ink and then disappearing, that is much harder than before. Netzero just announced that they were limiting members...

Pros: Simple to use, free version Cons: annoying ads, ad bar on free version, no more than 16 hours continous use permitted.
This review is "newbie friendly"- you won't need to be a LAN expert, delight in writing code. or wade through lots of jargon. This is basic stuff for the rest of us- computer users who are intelligent, if not expert. Hopefully-it won't drive...

Pros: it's free; on-going work remains on screen when I'm mysteriously logged off Cons: takes forever to load; pop-up ads everywhere; get "dumped" often
I signed up with Juno because I was tired of being logged off by AOL, and because it was free.
Once I was was up and running, the first thing I noticed was how user unfriendly Juno is. No more chat rooms; no more reading e-mail while doing...

Pros: email service Cons: ads and frequent disconnects
When my beloved Freewwweb sold us out to Juno, it sure was a shock to the system. I went to sign on to Freewwweb and was told that I could still receive free internet service, but that I would have to use Juno to continue doing so. If you had Freewwweb...
