Pros: Many ATMs Cons: Service, fees, $1 charge for many customer service calls
I was a Wells Fargo customer for 11 years until 2 days ago. The main reason I left is because I got fed up with their customer service (or lack thereof). They charge you for almost every "service" they provide. I felt like I was being nickle and dimed...

Pros: Physical branches, which I found I almost never used; ATMs that take checks without envelopes Cons: Customer information UNSAFE; ridiculously low savings interest; spurious fees; no real reason to bank
I've been banking with Wells Fargo not out of choice but because my employer opened an account for me when I immigrated in California two years ago. They are still Wells Fargo fans. ...

Pros: When nothing exceptional happens with you account it's smooth sailing. Cons: they can't handle a special situation to save their lives.
I NEVER call customer service unless it's truly required. I love online banking and I love automated things like direct deposit and bill pay. However, this banks businesses processes STINK. I don't know what planet they come up with their business ...

Pros: Customer service quick to respond Cons: Customer service generally not helpful, at least not online
You'd think bigger would mean better, well that's not always true in today's world. Formerly a Norwest customer for years, we merged into Wells Fargo. I'm someone that relies heavily on my instant cash card and online banking. While the Wells Fargo...

Pros: Branches/ATMs everywhere, improved customer service, Free Checking Cons: Free Checking doesn't exist in California (don't know why)
One thing that some previous reviewers should remember is that Wells Fargo did not buy Norwest -- NORWEST BOUGHT WELLS FARGO. They took the Wells Fargo name because of its history, but Norwest was the buyer. If you look at the organization, who has been...

Pros: 1st Rate Online Tools, High Interest Rates, Excellent Rewards Program, Good Customer Service Cons: Expensive bank if you are in one of the basic accounts.
I have been a Wells Fargo customer for 15 years. During much of that time, I kept a basic checking and savings account. My experience with them was not so dissimilar with many other reviewers on this site. Though I had no complaints about their customer ...

Pros: uhhh... Cons: too big for its britches
Since Wells Fargo bought out Norwest, I will just have to gripe here. This isn't going to be a long one, so don't get too comfortable.
I had a checking account with Norwest a few years ago. I hated their service. Whenever I had to speak...

Pros: Useful software, saves time and money, custom Payee list Cons: Many steps are required to handle transactions. Frequent service outages. High fees.
I've used Wells Fargo's online checking (as serviced by Checkfree) for the last three years. It has in fact changed my life; what used to be a major inconvenience is now a relatively easy paper-free task. This fact, however, doesn't exempt Checkfree ...

Pros: Numerous branches and ATMs, relatively good customer service, online banking, consistent service Cons: Lack a presence east of the Mississippi, generic checking/saving accounts, aggressive selling tactics
I have had an account with Wells Fargo since 1997, a year before its merger with Norwest. Although there were some rough periods initially, I would have to say the merger has been seamless. The new Wells Fargo seems to have taken the best aspects of its ...

Pros: It's a bank...like any other I suppose. Cons: Getting too large and no longer give quality services.
Close to 30 years age I opened my first account at Wells Fargo Bank. A year or so later I opened a few more accounts...business, checking,IRA's...etc. Being completely satisfied with the service they offered...I also recommended them to people. I could...

Pros: Not sure yet. Cons: Service is terrible.
Why did I come back? I opened an account with Wells Fargo in 1995. It was conveniently located across the street from my job in Hollywood. I was so excited to have a Wells Fargo account! I had seen the commercials and fell into the hype. I never noticed ...

Pros: Great for techie banking! Cons: Watch out for those fees!
I have been very pleased with Wells Fargo's online services. I use Quicken for my finances and WF's electronic bank information is set up to work with it. I live in a large city, but the branch near where I live definitely is "small town"....

Pros: 24-Hour Customer Service, convenient locations and ATMs Cons: Useless online banking, high APRs on loans and cards
Three years with Wells Fargo was quite enough for me. While I had only used it for its Rewards program on my Visa and online banking, I can only imagine how poorly designed and serviced the other aspects of this institution are. Over the course of ...
