Pros: good order execution, good customer service Cons: order confirmations not sent out
I have had accounts with Ameritrade for several years and have had good successes with them. I don't trade often, I'm more of a buy and hold type of person, but when I have traded my orders are almost always executed on time and accurately. Only...

Pros: LOW FEES Cons: CAN'T FINE ONE YET
I like the Ameritrade website. Loads faster than E*Trade and their real time quotes are faster, too.
Also find the site easy to navigate and use. The $8 fee is super. That's a lot cheaper than E*Trade which charges $19.95 per...

Pros: Cheap commissions, fast execution Cons: Expensive margin loans
I've been an Ameritrade customer for over three years. When I signed up, they were about the cheapest in commisions ($8 market, $13 limit orders). Now, however, there are at least 1/2 dozen cheaper discount brokerages, including Brown & Co. (15K...

Pros: Cheap commissions Cons: Slow options executions
I selected Ameritrade a couple years ago to begin trading stocks. Some of the benefits I liked about Ameritrade were that it has cheap commissions: $8 for market orders; $13 for limit, stop limits, stop orders; I think $17 for touch-tone orders (I don't...

Pros: easier and cheaper to use Cons: none
Ameritrade is a no-brainer. After trying Schwab, E-trade, and Ameritrade, I think Ameritrade is the easiest to use.
If you want to buy or sell a stock, you don't want to wait until next week to find out that the broker forgot to follow your order...

Pros: Easy to Use...No Frills....Relatively Fast Trades. $8.00 Trades. Cons: I wish they could directly wire funds from your bank account! Horrible Research Tools!
Ameritrade is a no-frills online brokerage service. You don't get stock screens, you don't get a voice on a phone. It's no mistake that their company slogan is "Believe in Yourself" (which of course means that you're on your own).
I trade...

Pros: Cheap, Fast, Easy,Experience Levels Cons: Slow notifications, Minimum $2000(unless promo)
I've been using them for a few years now and still love it. I started with American Express, but could not trade options on-line with them. You can trade options on-line with Ameritrade for a flat $25 + $1.75 per option contract, or regular stocks for...

Pros: Straight forward, no frills Cons: A little bland
I've always been a mutual fund investor, who didn't do and trading of individual stocks. I started seeing some stocks I was interested in buying, but found the full service brokers to have high minimums and big fees. Hey, I just want to throw a few...

Pros: Reliable, inexpensive Cons: None
"I thought we all agreed to stay...archaic." That is a line from one of my favorite television commercials. Although it doesn't advertise Ameritrade, the sentiment applies.
Do you remember the old days when people would boastfully talk...

Pros: Solid web site, good customer service Cons: Maybe not as "sexy" as eTrade
I've had an Ameritrade trading account for about two years now and I can truly say I love it. Yes, the web site is maybe not as jazzy as eTrade's or some of the other web brokers, but it works when I need it. And, it is simple and straightforward, much...

Pros: Cheaper, decent service Cons: slow for mutual funds to process
After putting up with bad service from ETrade, I opened an account with Ameritrade.
It took a couple of weeks to getit opened where I could make a trade. But this was confirmed by their customer service line, not the web site. The New Account...

Pros: All the financial tools you need Cons: none
I've had an Ameritrade account for 2 years. The reason we switched from a traditional broker to an online account was to have more control over our decisions of stock purchases, and to also have the ease of trading quickly if something came up. ...

Pros: Cheap Trades Cons: Low quality web site
Ameritrade has been running a special with a $500 initial investment and free trades for the first month. This is a very good deal for the new investor with a small cash investment. It can give the small investor a place to trade cheaply and...

Pros: none for OTC/BB stocks Cons: terrible broker assisted service, long hold times, unupdated accounts, incorrect account info....
Recently, I called a few on-line discount brokers about trading OTC/BB stocks. Upon talking to a new account "specialist" I was informed that it would cost only $8 for ONLINE OTC/BB trades. I couldn't be farther from the truth. Excited at...
