Worst customer service

Pros: cost Cons: customer service and dropped telephone calls
Dealing with AIG Specialty Auto insurance has been a nightmare. My accident happened almost 4 months ago and I am still waiting for resolution. Every step of the way I've had to call people repeatedly.. There telephone system constantly cuts me off and when I tell them they tell me it's just how the system works.

Dishonesty, put you in the credit collection

Pros: Absolutely none Cons: Dishonesty and harassment.
It has been two years since I cancelled my policy due to consistently increases in premiums and now it has been two years since I have done business with them and they have put me in the collection agency for $200 they claim that I owed over two years ago. I checked and they are lying.
If they send thousands of these letters out to their customers they are bound to get a percentage who just opt to pay and be done with it but I am sure that if they check their records they will find it to be in error.
They are just trying to collect as much money as they possibly can even if it is not owed to them. They are in financial trouble and they are trying to bring in revenue anyway they can. I would recommend that nobody do business with them ever again.

TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!

Pros: NONE! Cons: AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I'm not an AIG customer, but have had the unfortunate pleasure of having to deal with them since one of their customers rear ended me. It took almost a month to get someone to call me back, and that was only after my insurance agent called and used a more aggressive approach.
It's now been over 3 months, and the claim still isn't settled because AIG is unable to get in touch with their insured(i.e. the woman who rear ended me.) A reputable insurance company would go ahead and pay the claim if they are unable to get a statement from their insured after 3 months. NOT AIG!!!

AIG Auto Insurance

Pros: So far great customer service, happy to assist. Cons: Won't match competitor quotes to keep you as their customer.
I had this insurance for about 2 weeks, I had many questions, so far the Customer Service Agents have been nice, helpful and happy to answer questions. I got this insurance because it was much cheaper then all my quotes.
I did a re-quote with some insurances and found one considerably cheaper, it is surprising that AIG won't match the quote even though you can give them back up on "company" letterhead in order to keep you as a customer. I am not sure if I will switch to this other company, I am still researching it.
