Pros: Sleek styling, large capacity Cons: Easily burns foods, complicated controls and quirky interface
When I was shopping for a toaster oven, I was looking for a larger sized toaster oven that could handle six to eight slices of french bread or reheat 3 pieces of pizza at once. This one seemed to meet my requirements, and with such a good brand ...
Pros: Movable Racks, Big Capacity, Easy to Clean Cons: Unreliable, Slow to Heat
I chose the Cuisinart Classic Toaster Oven Broiler as my toaster oven because it offered all of the features that are important to me. The non-stick surfaces are easy to clean, the crumb tray covers the whole base of the oven and easily slides out...
Pros: Excellent on toast and baking, looks good on the counter Cons: Price, case gets dangerously hot
First of all, my Cuisinart TOB-30BC is not a Convection oven, but is part of the 'Classic' series. I had a 'Black&Decker' convection oven for a brief period, and I was not impressed with its performance, so I returned it. I really am amazed, though, at ...
Pros: Pretty Toaster Oven Cons: Incorrect Manual & Bad Customer Service
My wife and I received one of these for Christmas 2004 and were excited at first. We thought that a Cuisinart toaster oven HAD to be a decent upgrade from the $25 toaster ovens we were used to from Walmart. Well, we get the sucker out of the box, plug ...
Pros: Large capacity interior, looks, ease of cleaning Cons: Durability is a big problem
I purchased this unit to replace a Black & Decker Unit that was highly rated when I purchased it about 6-7 years ago. It still worked fine, but it was beginning to look a little crusty and funky after heavy use. I went to a Bed & Bath and scanned all...
Pros: Looks nice. Cons: Performance just isn't there.
Got this toaster oven as a wedding gift. Had gone to Macy's and selected this one, dare I say, on looks and feel. It does appear to be a well built toaster oven, until you try to use it. Just tonight I wrote Cuisinart about this random buzzing we've ...
Pros: Large capacity, nice looks Cons: Unreliable, poor performance, been through 4 of them!
I bought this 1 year ago at Bed, Bath and Beyond for $99 to replace my old reliable Black and Decker. Went for the "premium" Cuisinart brand - big mistake. First one began squealing in the middle of the night, very strange, had to unplug it to get it...
Used for two years, rusted and broke by chazyouwin ,Dec 12 '07
Pros: Good control of toasting Cons: Shoddy construction
This just died, somewhat beyond the warranty period. Sparked -- poof, then would no longer turn on. Within the warranty period, Cuisinart had already replaced some rusted internal parts. We used strictly as a toaster. Update: opened up, ceramic wire had broken. Reconnected with electrical tape (tight fit) but then it broke down again.
Pros: Large capacity Cons: Burns very easily and very unreliable.
I paid $99.00 for this toaster oven and Cuisinart is suppose to be a pretty good brand, thats why I purchased it. First time I used toaster I wanted Light toasted bread. The control on the oven was placed on light. What came out was medium toasted bread on one side and the other side was burnt. I didn't want to give up on the toaster oven so I did the same thing the next day and bread came out the same way. I was going to give it three tries before returning the oven but later that day the toaster oven started beeping uncontrollably without me using it.
Pros: When it worked, it worked well. Easy to clean too. Cons: DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT - FIRE HAZARD!!!!
After owning the Cuisinart TOB-30 for 90 days (after purchase at Bed, Bath and Beyond), we noticed an awful smell after trying to turn the unit on to bake. The bake function no longer worked - although the bottom heating element could still get hot on toast. The smell and smoke came from melting wires in the switch. VERY DANGEROUS!!!
Cuisinart will ship a replacement oven, but only if you pay shipping back the old one, and PRE-PAY SHIPPING TO GET IT BACK! It is going to cost me $30 to ship a broken toaster oven I paid around $100 to get in the first place - after only 90 days of use.
Pros: Works Okay when it works, Cons: Terrible Warranty and Support
Warranty is no good, you have to return entire unit at your expense, pay a fee to get the new unit. No matter how long you have had the unit, or how easy the repair or replacement part is, the entire unit has to be returned with the fee. Not worth it at any price. Beware
I received this as a gift in late 2004. It has worked okay, but after about 90 days, I noticed the timer would go off on its own. I heard a buzzing noise and discovered the oven on with the timer going off. The switches would not turn it off. Only unplugging it worked. Then I plug it back in and it works fine for a few weeks. This went on for a while, then it caught on fire. Thank goodness I was home when that happened. I should have thrown it away the first time the buzzer went off.
It was my favorite right up until the control panel died. It toasted perfectly the way I wanted it every time. I spent about 5 hours driving around to find a place to fix it; to no avail. So I bought an Oster that I have come to hate.
It just stopped working one day. On a few occasions, the timer would go off by itself when nothing was in the oven, so I had to unplug it after each use. You would think Cuisinart would make a better product especially at that price.
Worked great for 4 years by tvanderbeek ,May 02 '09
Pros: Really easy to use; simple controls. Large capacity. Heats up quickly. Various rack positions. Cons: Easy to burn toast-toast darkness setting unpredictable. Stopped working after 4 years of no trouble.
We received this toaster oven as a wedding gift. It worked perfectly at all times for almost exactly 4 years. Then the buzzer worked intermittently. Then it won't stay on with the toast setting. I'd say we use the toast function about 95% of the time for breakfast toast so this problem makes the toaster mostly unusable for us. Once in a while we will use the broil or bake setting. This toaster is really easy to use and the settings are ridiculously simple. I've seen some other toasters with 20 buttons and I just don't get it. I just want to quickly toast some bread for breakfast and this toaster has done a great job until the recent problems. I'm going shopping for a new toaster today and wouldn't hesitate to get this toaster again, although some toasters for the same price have more features or I have found similarly simple toaster ovens for much less. It does look nice though with the stainless steel finish, which has been easy to keep clean.
