Pros: Small, lightweight. Great sound and battery life. Cheap. Durable. Expandable memory. Cons: Doesn't support ID3 tags. Bud earphones look a little cheap. No backlight for the display.
My oldest son had a short Christmas list this year:
MP3 Player
Trip to Seattle to visit family
There was no trip to Seattle tucked under the tree this, but there was an iRock! 530 MP3 player. Given its two months of continuous use,...
Pros: Great battery life, reasonable price. Cons: No backlight.
The Irock! 530 Digital Audio Player is a good starter MP3 player. Let me start by describing several key features you should look for when shopping for an MP3 player and then compare these features on the Irock! 530.
Pros: Sounds great, device is easy to use and intuitive Cons: Software is hard to use and buggy, no strap for working out at the gym
Introduction My first mp3 player experience and somewhat frustrating. I bought it primarily for use at the gym and silly me assumed that all small mp3 players came with suitable straps for securing the device to a limb. Not so, it came with a ...
Pros: Pretty small, includes all the conection kit, upgradable memory Cons: I had to reinstall the software twice, to make it work properly
I bought this mp3 player about two months ago. The software included has an audio manager and a download manager to download mp3 files to you portable device, but with this device you can even import music from musicmatch to iRock! 530. It has 128 MB...
Pros: long battery life, sounds great, cheap, durable Cons: horrible software and sync with computer, bad customer service
this is my first mp3 player. i got it at radioshack for about $100 its tough, small, light, and lasts a long time on one aaa baterry. the software is messed up though, its extremely hard to use and now i cant get it to work at all. so ive had the same songs on it for about 8 months. whenever i try to call up customer service i get the machine and absolutley no help. but if the software worked, it would be a great device
Pros: Expandable and good battery life Cons: No ID3 tag display and backlight.
Excellent player, even though it is missing a backlight and ID3 tag display. It's sound is very good and it is small and portable. That is all I care about. I even got mine on Ebay for 60 dollars and it worked like brand new.
Pros: can insert a smart media card to increase playing time Cons: doesn't display artist name and song name
can add and swap smart media cards to increase playing time. But only displays track nbr - no artist name nor the song name.
Newer mp3 players can display the artist name, song time and may have an FM radio and even a voice recorder (for recording that lecture you have trouble staying wake in)
battery door as flimsy and makes it feel cheep.
Its thin and will fit it shirt pocket with rrom for a pda.
iRock 530 MP3 - amazing value for the price by gymoran ,Nov 04 '03
Pros: lightweight, great price, fair amount of capacity Cons: no backlight, no belt clip, random play buggy
This is my second MP3 player. I've had an old one for 5 years, if you can believe it. I'm very happy with the price I paid for the iRock and it stores 4x what my old player could hold. I've very disappointment in its portability. There is no belt clip, just a cheesy string loop. It's nice and light, but what do you do when you want to jog or lift weights with it? The first time I used the random feature, I heard the same song three times in 20 minutes. All-in-all a very great little player for the price.
I struggled for almost a week and a half before i decided to return this mp3 player. there are almost no good proggrams that are commpatable with the irock players and to top it off the proggram that it comes with wuold take a genius to decipher. i gave up on thiis product and am now looking for a sony.
It was my first MP3... by johnp_dt3001 ,Jan 19 '03
It was my first MP3 player experience. and it was bad. I went to the store with a smartmedia card loaded with MP3 songs that I had listened to on my desk top. I loaded the card via a "USB removable drive smartmedia device". All songs were on the top level and not in a folder. The store had no models for me to try out. I purchased the device, and went imeadiatly to the "Exchange department" line to open and try it. I did not recongnize the Smart Media card. I got my money back.
If they all are this way, I don't want one.

I bought this iRock! 530 Series MP3 Player and it totally rocks! I spent so much time looking around for the perfect MP3 Player and for the less than $200 I spent on mine, it was well worth it. You can also expand the memory, so that's a BIG PLUS.
It's a cool tiny Machine But it has no manual you gotta try an figure it out yourself. Plus it's IMPOSSIBLE to find a memory card.Damnation...otherwise it's "da bomb"! So I definatly recomend it to anyone searching for a good cheap mp3 player. Oh and it sucks the Battery up quick so buy ALOT of AAA batteries.
If you looking for a nice Mp3 player with plenty of memory and great sound quality then this ones for you but the only thing i didn't like was that it was not loud enough when i needed it to be, But its built to last and can store up to about 35 songs with and expandable memory to 256 to double.
irock! 730i Digital Audio Player (128 MB) Personal Digital Audio Player that plays MP3i, MP3 and WMA files 128MB of memory, expandable to 256MB (9 hours of music) with SMC Displays artist and ...
