Pretending to be rich, famous, and beautiful in L.A.

Pros: Rooms are bigger than my apartment; too much great stuff to list in 15 words
Cons: Staff can be mathematically challenged. But, it is L.A., and they really try.

A sometimes quiet refuge in L.A.

Pros: Great pool, good service, quiet locale, large bar.
Cons: Decor by Pottery Barn, bar over-run with hipsters on weekends.
I liked the W hotel in Westwood. It had it's issues, but the bottom line is that it's a great place to escape the horror of L.A.'s traffic, bustle, and plasticine people...unless you're there on the weekend.
