Pros: Lovely photographs, good ideas, variety of decorating styles. Cons: Short issues, usually just under 100 pages.
Romantic Homes Magazine is one of my favorite magazines to browse. I don't have a lot of time for decorating or redecorating but I enjoy looking through this magazine each month. The pictures are nice and this magazine is great for giving you ...
Pros: Gives you ideas to decorate your home Cons: some of these rooms don't look romantic, they look stupid.
You've got your Luther Vandross box set and your 5 CD changer, you've lit candles about your room, but your girlfriend just still isn't impressed. She'd rather get a room at a hotel than participate in bedroom sports in your room.
Pros: lots of great pictures, practical advice and decorating suggestions Cons: skimpy, articles aren't as helpful as pictures
There are several styles one can take on when decorating a home. Some people go for modern. Others like a classic look. My cousin loves the romantic Victorian style. She likes flowers, lace, and cutesy touches. To help her decorate, she subscribes to...
Pros: Shows you some beautiful set ups, tells you how to find items in magazine Cons: some costly ideas, not for everyone, not easy to find
I recently received a couple complimentory issues of Romantic Homes. This magazine has got to have some of the most beautiful interiors I have ever seen. Some are a little extravagent and unreasonable, but the elegance is still there. Though this is not...
Pros: After searching many styles I feel at home here. Cons: I can't do it all.
I have been trying to turn a sows ear (my split
level house)into a silk purse for years now and
Romantic Homes is my favorite guide. I tried
to find my personal 'style' but I like so many
things it was difficult. Victorian was a...
Pros: beautiful photos and useful tips & hints Cons: almost no one knows it exists
This magazine is too good to be kept a secret! If you are a fan of the Victorian era, romance, shabby chic, and beautiful crafts and decorating, then you will love this magazine!
I first discovered Romantic Homes at the bookstore where I...
Pros: well presented, beautifully-illustrated Cons: "thin" issues
Romantic Homes magazine combines graceful, old-world charm in a modern-day world. Although thin in nature, the pages of each magazine are filled with beautiful photographs which include an overall view of the stories, as well as carefully-selected...
We all need a special retreat that we can escape to on a daily basis. And who doesn't love the comfy cozy feeling of a snug bedroom. This magazine provides lots of ideas to create your own little haven from the rest of the world. I have used a lot of...
I love to collect anything from vintage vases, to cut-glass perfume bottles and old linens and Romantic Homes gives plenty of help in how to create a classic look using your antique shop finds. For example, in the Premier Issue, there is an article about...
This is one of my very favorite magazines. I love the shabby chic look and the gardening ideas that they have in this magazine. I believe that there were some changes made a year or so ago to the magazine, and I think it was actually better before they...
Pros: They advertise some great shops Cons: It's sad that they have put 'romantic' in the background.
I've have enjoyed this mag for years; I've kept every one. Years ago I switched from Victoriana to Romantic Homes. This magazine has been an strong inspiration in my home. But lately,it has been going in a different direction. The cover even explains it. No longer is ROMANTIC in caps; it is now HOMES. This may be because of a new editor. It has become too contemporary for me. It has lost the detail and frills that go with a romantic home. They should take advice from some of the shops that advertise with them. I won't be renewing my subscription.
Pros: Romantic Homes has always been my favorite. Cons: I would really like to see the magazine go back to it's original format.
I've loved Romantic Homes magazine for years, but I would really like to see it go back to it's old way of showing homes. The last few issues have not been good. I will try subscribing again, and hope to see it go back to the way it was. If not I will be cancelling my subscription. I think most people, at least my friends, loved seeing the homes and how they were decorated, along with reading the peoples stories. Now it's become like all the other magazines, mostly ads.
PLEASE go back to the original magazine!
Pros: Still enjoy the Romantic Homes covers! Cons: Editorial staff's 2006-2007 decisions as to what appears in this formerly lovely magazine.
Romantic Homes staff be warned - I'm sure your circulation is being continued by hopeful readers such as myself, who has subscribed to the magazine for years, and hopes it returns to its former glory. Your December, 2007 Christmas issues was such a disappointment. Outside of a few lovely Christmas photos, there was nothing special about the issue. It's become mostly a source for specialty stores to advertise. I've received Christmas catalogs that are more enjoyable to browse (and they're free!) I am not one who likes only pastel pink and white -please don't write my opinion off that easily. I had always enjoyed looking at the lush photography and interesting articles about different homes all over the good old USA. Someone has chosen to take this successful publication and make it an imitation of others in the market. Please bring back what made this magazine the treasure it WAS. Your readers may be loyal but we're not fools - eventually we will give up and let our subscriptions lapse.
"Romantic homes" only a dream of the past. by susymirko ,Jun 01 '09
Pros: I hoped they returned to that glorious 2003-2005 years. Cons: I regret so much for this new "Romantic homes" not more romantic at all.
I've bought quite all the issues and at the present I'm a subscriber. I think the stuff's direction is going worst than ever. If they will go on this way I'll not subscribe anymore. The quality of the entire magazine is poor, common object (Far to be romantic) are enlarged, instead the photos of the rooms are out of focus, with lack of colors.I really don't understand this direction.
