Pros: A potent mix of rock, soul and pop flavors. Cons: Lenny wears his influences on his sleeve, and sometimes they're TOO obvious.
Before Lenny Kravitz was LENNY KRAVITZ, he was better known as Mr. Lisa Bonet. At the time Kravitz recorded and released his debut, Let Love Rule, Bonet (who played Denise Huxtable on The Cosby Show) was the much bigger star, and consequently ...

Pros: Emotional, beautiful, simple... Cons: none I can think of...
The son of an actress and television producer, Lenny Kravitz may have had a little help in attaining stardom. However his rock style, musical talent, and classic good looks are what have kept him around for nearly twenty years. His music is clearly ...

Pros: Great album, start to finish--you can listen to it end-to-end, repeatedly. Cons: Accused of being derivative work; Sporadic use of trite lyrics and fatiguing recording effects
This is one of my twenty favorite albums of all time, and definitely Lenny Kravitz's best work. Unlike some discs that contain three singles and a bevy of junk, Mama Said is an album that demands you listen from start to finish, and rewards you ...

Pros: Greatly emotional album Cons: Being a Hippie is not always interesting.
This is one funky album, full of musical illusion and breadth that was the record that established Lenny Kravitz, contrary to popular belief that Are You Gonna Go My Way fills this slot.
There is a lot os psychadelic bounce to this collection...

Pros: Great selection of his slower songs Cons: Depressing if you're ending a relationship or just broke-up
I am a huge Lenny Kravitz fan and have all of his CD's and listen to them often. Every time I listen to this one, I can't help but reflect on how Lenny went form "Sittin' On Top of the World" (on Let Love Rule) to "It Ain't over 'til...

Pros: variety of styles Cons: he needs to put a shirt on
Lenny Kravitz, the most versatile musician of his time. Lenny goes nuts on this album, from funk, to folk, to straight up rock. This album is brilliant. Lenny plays many different instruments on this album. Guitar, Bass, Drums, Organ, etc., Lenny...

Pros: It rocks! Cons: Nothing
Lenny Kravitz is one of the most original artists to come out of the late eighties and he is still rocking hard. "Mama Said" was the first CD that I bought of his and I am still listening too it almost a decade later.
Kravitz...

Pros: Chill Cons: None
Some people think that Lenny Kravitz rips off all of his music. And he does. But he doesn't sound like anybody else. He takes the best from every conceivable type of music and creates such a unique, soulful blend.
Mama Said is by far his best...

Pros: variety of songs, great songs Cons: too many slow songs
I think Lenny Kravitz is such a great artist. He is not confined by stereotypes, and makes really good music. This CD, "Mama Said" is a perfect example. I have two Lenny Kravitz CD's, "Mama Said" and "Are you Gonna Go my...

Pros: Great Tunes Cons: Can be considered hard rock/heavy metal
Lenny Kravitz is Awesome! This guy puts heart and soul into his music! If you haven't heard this guy play guitar, you are missing out on some great guitar playing talent! Some of his more popular albums include Are you Gonna Go My Way, Let Love...
