OK, I am a classical music buff, but I would recommend this CD to even a casual or novice listener. You can hear he love Cecilia has for music, and after a while you may find yourself humming these tunes in the car....

The voice of Bartoli enrages some, delights others. I'm in the latter camp. This album highlights a voice which is rich, has great range and presses every emotional button you may have in your soul.
The range of music here is tailored to this voice which soars and sweeps, too much for some, enough for me.
She is an icon, this Bartoli. She has her own style and a vibrato to thrill you deep down in the viscera.
Later albums show that she is still developing a unique approach to her adopted musical context. Yet this earlier album indicates her path with exactitude.
This one I play every week and it stays fresh.
