Evil Empire is what I like to consider the middle child of all Rage, in terms of while-a-band Rage-penned albums Though they did release a fourth album, it was after they broke up, its all covers anyway, so there's no legitimate rage to it. ...
Pros: Up there with their self titled album. It's Rage!! Cons: Not the first one.
Introduction
This is my review for Evil Empire. If you’ve read my review of Rage’s self-titled album, you’ll know that I have wanted to review this for ages. Firstly, I just want to say, now this album is as good as the first album and, yes,...
Pros: riveting, and revealing of many problems with our society. Cons: too much foul language, but that comes with anger I suppose
Rage Against the Machine's Evil Empire is something else.
The lyrics are well thought out and they hit you differently everytime. And there is an audacious mix of rap, punk and hard rock that makes for a fresh rendition modern sound.
The...
Pros: lyrics, music Cons: lyrics are hard to understand first time through =0)
Explosive and original. Rage Against the Machine has a sound that noone else has. With lyrics that have a meaning and great instrumentals they simply ROCK! Evil Empire is one of Rage Against the Machine is newest titles coming from '96. Recently at...
Pros: More angst-filled raprock from one of the best. Cons: Some of the weaker tracks sound bland.
Rage Against the Machine's long awaited followed up album was finally released in 1996, after almost 5 years in the works. Titled Evil Empire, the album is all about De La Rocha's anti-capitalist views. Unfortunately, since their original success and...
Pros: Hard hitting , exciting and great sounds Cons: Not for those who like quiet music
Rage Against the Machine is hard hitting and explosive music. Evil empire is proof of this. Zack De La Rocha always the political advocate makes his message again. Vietnow is an obvious message about Vietnom. People of the Sun, one of the singles...
Can anyone else move a crowd like Rage? I'm not sure. This Sophomore effort is an absolutely amazing, inspiring, life changing compilation, which cries out for humanity in a world wrought with injustice.
This album emphasizes the hip hop over the...
Definatley not a one hit wonder! This group of 4 hard hitting guys came back and delivered. Though not as good as their last album this one is definatley a keeper. Buy this album and you will not be disappointed. With songs like Vietnow and Bulls on...
I can't enough of this band. This album is a little laid back compared to their first cd, I think the band just decide to tone down the grooves and put their lyrics out in the open. By doing they enabled the fans to go a little deeper into what this...
Pros: Great sound: Rock/Hip-Hop; Great Message Cons: Listen to it so much, I've put hundreds of scratches on the CD
Rage Against the Machine is the epitome of Hip-Hop combined with Rock. I love this band. I own both Evil Empire and The Battle of Los Angeles. Both are great albums. I recommend that you buy this album first, and The Battle of Los Angeles later. ...
Pros: Good strong beat with a rhythmic blend of music. Cons: Songs may drag longer than usual.
Rage Against the Machine's hard speed metal way in Evil Empire has hit big. With a Grammy Nomination in '96 this Cd has been a success. With a eleven track cd with over 45 minutes this Cd is one of the best there is. With loud guitar drum playing...
This CD is just plain wonderful, see title. I love this CD, because it is absolutely divine in the meanings of the songs. "This is for the People of the Sun" refers to the epic struggle between Cortez (quetzalcoatl!?!?!?) and the mayan...
Pros: Innovative, Exciting Cons: You may not agree with the political views
Rage Against The Machine, as we all must know by now, is not your average pop band. In fact, its probably not even your average rock band. Rage is a band that established the Rock/Rap genre years before any other artist was even thinking along those...
Pros: nice catchy tunes, Tom Morello can definitely play the guitar Cons: lyrics, and the bands overall message is too radical
The 1990's were a period in time in which the cold war was just ending. Russia and the United States were putting away their differences, the Berlin Wall was down, Communism was declining, and people were no longer afraid of a nuclear holocaust. The...
Pros: Rage returns with some decent songs. Cons: The new sound adopted sounds like crap.
I'm a staunch Rage Against the Machine fan, but this album kinda sucks compared to the self-titled and "Battle of LA." My main gripe with "Evil Empire" is Zach's voice, Zach sounded great in the self-titled, but in this album, the tone of his voice went ...
Pros: Great music and message. Cons: Some might not get the message.
This is, in my opinion, the best of Rage's albums. It was with this album that they rocketed to the top of the chart, selling millions of copies. It was this album that finally earned them the recognition that they deserved. It was with this album that...
Pros: Proves to the world that Limp Bizkit isn't the limit of intelligence that metal-alternative rock must succomb to. Cons: It wasn't delivered in the mail to all suburban areas of America.
Somewhere between "Rage Against the Machine" and "Battle Of Los Angeles" lies this album, the second volume of music from those guitar strummmin, bass slappin, mic blasting, drum pounding revolutionaries. You can really tell RATM...
This is the second album that Rage Against The Machine put forth to the general public. In its style of Rap-Rock, hard core beat, and awesome political lyrics, it is definitely in style with RATM's first album. The Evil Empire album definitely got much...
Pros: great funky rock beats Cons: i wish it was longer
I have been a Rage Against The Machine fan for a long time. Out of the 4 recorded albums they have released, this one is the best. Their first album, the self-titled one, was also a great album. What makes Evil Empire better is how their sound is...
Pros: RATM's classic blend of rock and rap. Cons: Not as strong of a message as previous CD (Self Titled)
This CD starts out strong with the dogmatic 'People of the Sun' which is arguably the best track. It continues with the great songs 'Vietnow', 'Bulls on Parade', and my personal favorite 'Revolver'. Those first four songs are so fantastic that it took...
Pros: Powerful, meaningful, just an all out great album Cons: Some songs sound a little bit a like, little else to complain about though
CdUniverse said "This long-awaited sophomore release from Rage Against The Machine does not disappoint. Its grinding, ferocious guitar twists Public Enemy-like riffs in and out of the rhythm section's metallic pummeling. But as usual, while Tom Morello's...
Pros: Some amazing songs Cons: Not particularly consistent
After Rage Against the Machine's much praised eponymous release, came Evil Empire. I have got bored of this album, when I first got it I didn't think it was great... But I still found myself muttering the odd line I'd heard off it. I went back and...
Pros: Great original sounds Cons: Parental Advisory Suggested
Evil Empire, the album name says it all. Want to hear music on how the goverment sucks? Well this is an album to listen to..or you can purchase any other albums that Rage Against the Machine has put out.
Pros: Everything about it Cons: A bit too much profanity for the younger listener, but not as bad as lots of other bands.
This CD is the best Rage Against the Machine CD in my opinion. It has a lot of different sounding songs. The hit song Bulls on Parade is a song that you can listen to over and over again with out getting old. Good songs include People of the Sun,...
Makes you want to mash, rap, rebel, and think all at once by solorebellion ,Dec 05 '05
Pros: Unique, energetic, inspiring, well made. Cons: One track isn't that good. But that's standard for any band.
Zack de la Rocha is the best vocalist of any rock band, ever. He has the style of a rapper, the lyrics of a revolutionary, and the voice of, well, Zack. Tom Morello is the most unique guitarist of our time. Brad Wilk has the beats of a hip-hop group. Tim Commerford integrates the bass flawlessly.
This is the most unique band of their day. This album is the peak of their career, as are Self Titled and The Battle of Los Angeles.

Pros: tight instrumentation , guitar , drums, bass all come together. Cons: Britney Spears writes harder albums than this
just because you are marxists or whatever these guys are,it doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to write a decent album. These guys tear apart the government and this country's abuse of the poor all the while they rake in the mad cash. It's kinda like Pavarotti singing about how you should lose weight because you look a little chubby.
I am so glad these guys broke up so that i never have to listen to another watered down version of their decent self-titled debut. This album has no teeth , they stray from hard edge into pop, mainstream is afterall where the real money is. If you don't own any Rage , then just buy their first , all others afterward are a disappointment.
