Pros: It's poetic, focused, catchy, and passionate. Cons: Can get slightly repetitive.
If you are an amateur singer/songwriter/guitarist who has ever aspired to hit the big time, Dashboard Confessional should prove to you, once and for all, that it can be done. If Dashboard can do it, anyone can do it. That's not to say that Dashboard...
Pros: Passionate and brutally raw lyrics, sweet acoustic melodies Cons: a backing band is missed occasionally
There is always a sure-fire way to recognize talent: it smacks you square in the face when you're looking the other way. While I was waiting to see local South Florida punk heros A New Found Glory, I was overwhelmed by another local artist. Dashboard...
Pros: strong vocals, breathtaking acoustical sound, lyrical bliss; music that creates true visual imagery. Cons: if you're a total metalhead, you probably won't dig this.
Good acoustic music is hard to come by these days. Everyone is trying to be bigger, louder, more electronic. Distortion pedals are a standard these days, and MIDIs are making themselves more and more mainstream with every passing day. It's nice to...
Pros: Beautiful, heartfelt, inspiring. Cons: If you're a guy you may not want to tell other guys that you likeit.
I bought this one because it was recommended to me by a fan of The Get Up Kids (whom I love). However, this album is NOTHING like the Get Up Kids. And I love every minute of it. The music is amazing. The lyrics are awesome. There is nothing about ...
Pros: The brilliant lyrics and beautiful guitar playing. Cons: Is it a band or a solo act?
I do not consider this album to be emo, indie rock, indie pop, or whatever. Music this good shouldn't be labeled. Dashboard Confessional's "The Swiss Army Romance" is a beautiful album, with an amazing effort put in by Christopher Carrabba, who is the...
Pros: Good vocals, amazing lyrics, deep meanings, what Emo is all about Cons: None
Dashboard Confessional has became one of my favorite bands with this album. Chris Carrabba has amazing talent, as Dashboard Confessional is made of one person, him. Acoustic music is hard to pull off, but Carrabba does it with ease and class.
...
Pros: It's a look into the heart and it's not fool like most music! Cons: It can make you cry!
I saw Dashboard Confessional about a year ago...it was in a a small club with only 30 or so people...it was before they became big...and Chris's (lead singer) mother...it was the first time she had ever heard him play...he was nervous and hid his...
Pros: Great Acoustical Sound, awesome vocals, Down-to-earth, straight forward lyrics Cons: It ends, not enough concerts near me
Chris, the man in the band, has a great voice, plays the guitar awesome, and MAN, can he write good lyrics!
Dashboard Confessional comes from the song "The Sharp Hint Of New Tears" from the line "This cars hears my confessions". Throughout the...
THIS CD IS THE FIRST DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL CD, AND IS A ONE MAN SHOW. THE SINGER/SONGWRITER IS A SUPER-TALENT WHO WRITES LYRICS THAT WOULD MAKE ANYONE THINK TWICE ABOUT LOVE AND ROMANCE. OTHER THAN A FEW BACKROUND VOCALS AT A FEW POINTS THIS CD IS...
the first LP from dashboard confessional
originally released in 2000, "The Swiss Army Romance" shows the best of d/c.
The songs are all acoustic, and thats it.
Just Chris and his guitar. All tracks are filled with very emotional and poetic lyrics. Chris and his voice are very strong and pronounced, which most definitely gives the song more emotion to it.
There is truly nothing I can find that someone wouldn't like from this LP who loves acoustic emotional music.
IF you are a metal head or a close minded music fan, it's in your best interest to stay away from this disc.
Back to the rest of the world,
this is a must for any and all dashboard fans.
If for some reason you don't have this LP or downloaded.
Either go to best buy, or open up your soulseek application to get it.
Pros: Heart-wrenching lyrics, melodic guitar riffs Cons: The slower sounds don't suit a full-band track.
The category of emotional rock/punk cannot be complete without the works of Dashboard Confessional. Front man Chris wears his heart on his sleeve in the production of this masterpiece. From the slower sounds of 'Age Six Racer ' to the heart-thumping riffs of 'Ender Will Save Us All ', this album is a joy not to be missed.
Pros: Amazing lyrics that will make you cry Cons: He doesn't have the best vocals in the world
The thing with Chris Carraba is that you either love him or you hate him. He has lyrics that will appeal to almost anyone who has ever had their heart trampled on, but to many his vocals aren't good enough to back them up. His vocals aren't the best, but they don't matter if you listen to the beautiful acoustic guitar and the lyrics. I think this is an amazing album. If you like emo, you'll probably like this...if not then don't bother because you'll just think he's a cry baby.
