Pros: Fusion-like Arabic, Indian rhythms/textures, blended with dash of western alternative vocals and hint of electronic/ambience.
Cons: If elegant cross genre acoustic guitar music...is not your thing...

Of all the 2003 new releases from a variety of jazz[world/new age] artists I have seen [heard] and also observed perform live introducing their new material/songs, Jesse Cook's release NOMAD is 'THE' extraordinary solid favorite on my list. Not only is NOMAD beautiful musicianship from one of today's finest guitarists, it is refreshingly uplifting in it's diversity.

Cook's NOMAD is unique among this years new releases, as clearly the music expresses the artists melodic vision/creation and thankfully NOMAD did not 'get lost' to the recoding industries "cookie cutter" marketing mania and become another predictably vaporized musical essence and another commercialized CD release of 2003.

This CD is well worth adding to anyones music library...It's a keeper.
