There are already several reviews on the regular CD version of Elton John's "Peachtree Road" so I won't repeat in this review.
The most notable feature of this SACD is strong imaging and a fantastic bass track. Compared to my other two Elton SACDs (Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and Captain Fantastic), this album has the sharpest sound. It may just be that this is a new album mastered with SACD in mind, but regardless it was impressive. There were a couple tracks where the surround channels almost became overbearing, but for the most part they were pretty tame.
The SACD is dual-format and hybrid, so you get a regular CD PCM bitstream, a 2-channel SACD DSD bitstream, and a 5.1-channel DSD bitstream.
The songs on Peachtree Road are a little slower and a little calmer than earlier albums but the lyrics are great and Elton John sounds better with a deeper voice in my opinion. Track 3: "Answer in the Sky" will stick in your mind, guaranteed.

Sony DVP-NS775 DVD player in 5.1 surround)
