Pros: Good mix of classic and original songs, balance between John Denver and Muppets, great recordings. Cons: None.
Despite my lifelong love of the Muppets, it wasn't until relatively late in my life that I discovered the absolute classic Muppet Christmas album: John Denver and the Muppets: A Christmas Together. The album was first released in 1979, at ...
Pros: A nice expression of joy for the Christmas season. Cons: None!
Those were the days when the celebration of lights and Jesus’ birth were the primary reason for celebrating Christmas and even though it is more of a commercial holiday that businesses start advertising for even before Halloween, it is still my favorite ...
Pros: Great chemistry with Denver and Muppets, rare Muppets today such as The Electric Mayhem included Cons: Yeah, right
"John Denver and The Muppets: A Christmas Together" is an absolute success. Part of this is because it was recorded in 1979, in what Muppet fans consider the Golden Age of the Muppets. "The Muppet Show" was in its 3rd season and ...
Pros: The CD has The Muppets And Appeals To Children Cons: The CD Has John Denver Solos that do NOT appeal to Children.
One of the CDs that my ex-husband used to play around the house during Christmastime was A Christmas Together by John Denver and The Muppets. I believe the reason that he used to play this was mainly to "mock" me by imitating the...
Pros: Muppets and Denver performing together Cons: no more reunions possible
I'm nineteen years old, but I still watch Sesame Street when I get the chance. I'll sit through the same Muppet movie three times in one week, and I have been known to burst forth with a croaky "MAHNA MAHNA!" from time to time. I love ...
Growing up in my household, it wasn't the Christmas season until John Denver & the Muppets was played at least once. It was the record that marked the beginning of the holiday. We had in on Vinyl and it skipped horribly, but had to be played every...
Pros: Reflective songs combined with rollicking good fun Cons: No chance of a volume 2, with Denver and Henson both gone
I love Christmas albums. As a public librarian, I get to spend your tax dollars buying Christmas albums. I buy everything from old stand-bys such as Guy Lombardo and Tennessee Ernie Ford to artists still breathing, such as Hanson and Celine Dion. Of them...
I bought this album last Christmas for my Christmas party. I loved how cheery it is, it's totally awesome! If you need a good album for a christmas party, this is definetly, definetly, definetly the one. It kind of reminds you of shopping for Christmas...
A Christmas Together - Just What I Expected by shorebird ,Dec 11 '05
Pros: Beautifully touching songs by John Denver and the usual fun and merriment with the Muppets. Cons: Kermit is sometimes too quick to retort to be easily understood.
I bought this CD several years ago because I love the Muppets and because I like John Denver. I bought it for me AND for the children in my family to listen to with me. I read reviews, listened to sound bytes and read the song titles before I bought it so I realized it would appeal to a mixed audience and I got just what I expected. I'm buying another copy today for my sister, who is the grandmother of the children in the family, because she enjoyed it so much last Christmas.
