Pros: Direction, Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman, Supporting Actors, Story, Cinematography, Score Cons: This is what filmmaking is all about.
Se7en (1995) Just because [hes] got a library card doesnt make him Yoda. Det. David Mills Seven days, seven murders, seven deadly sins. Got it? Thats the basic idea behind the dark mystery horror thriller ...
Pros: great cast, very well presented story, intriguing and complex, exemplary cinematography Cons: none
Director David Fincher set the tone early on for how he wanted everything in Seven depicted. He wasn't a natural choice to be in charge of the film, having really only done Alien 3 before this one, but in the end, it was pretty obvious ...
Pros: Story, acting, setting, pacing, not much wrong Cons: The way the murders "work" is questionable
In the spirit of full disclosure I have included the following statement . . . There have been nearly a hundred reviews of this film. This is part of the December 2007 dollar dealiemy protest is to write reviews of things I like but have already ...
Pros: excellent filming/locations, top-notch actors, original plot Cons: plenty of graphic violence, not for everyone
This movie isn't for everyone, I'll say that right away. For some it may be too gruesome, too disturbing, too twisted and even too frightening. However if that's anywhere along the line of your cup of tea you might want to pick this up.
I have been an all around thriller fan for many years now. I have seen many movies that are of this nature, but nothing what “Seven” delivers. It is a sure thriller to keep you on the edge of your feet.
Pros: Dialogue; characters; dripping with ambience; tightly knit scenes Cons: Very linear storyline; more dialogue than suspense
On a rain drenched night, a cab driver asks, “Where are you headed?” Shaking his head in disgust, a confused detective mumbles: “Far away from here.” The character portrayed by Morgan Freeman in “Se7en” is a shadowy polarity to most other movie crime...
Pros: A terrific thriller Cons: The gore will scare away some people
David Fincher's 1995 film Se7en may be too dark and disturbing for some people, but for those who have the stomach for it, the film is a horrifying and intelligent thriller. Featuring superb performances from Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt, a creepy ...
Pros: Mysterious; suspenseful; exciting; outstanding sense of design; excellent performances. Cons: Might be a little too disturbing for some viewers; a slight cop-out in the story.
"Seven" is one of the best mystery movies I've ever seen. It's a serial killer mystery, but you don't care so much about making the killer pay as much as hope they just catch the killer. The story is a cops-on-the-trail-of-serial-ki

mystery. ...
Pros: Tight story. Well acted and directed. Spacey especially good. Cons: Not for kids or delicate souls. Weak extras.
Gluttony -- Greed -- Sloth -- Lust -- Pride -- Envy -- Wrath St. Thomas Aquinas laid down the Seven Deadly Sins in the 1500s (Along with the Seven Cardinal Virtues (Abstinence, Liberality, Diligence, Humility, Chastity, Kindness, and Patience, ...
Pros: They could not have selected a better surprise antagonist. Cons: Nothing that would disturb the enjoyment of the non-nitpicky viewer.
Here it is. The movie that shattered all of the rules of decency and no-starlet decollation, then took the rules and sprinkled them in the mudpit of a demolition derby, then took the rules out the next day and fed them to the flesh-eating pigs in...
Pros: Incredibly suspenseful, full of vision, rightfully dark. Cons: Too depressing for some?
David Fincher's Se7en (or Seven) is as despairing and depressing as any movie ever made. It starts out in hell and spirals even further down into it. Every time I walk away from the film, I have this mood to me, this attitude, this feeling, and my ...
Pros: Intriguing plot, Freeman and Spacey, good effects Cons: Pitt, bad direction, bad score, not suspenseful enough
I'd heard so much about this movie, that I knew I just had to see it. Even my dad, who hates all horror or suspense films reccomended it. I'd just sat through The Grudge, and so was feeling generous towards anything that even moderately entertained me. ...
Pros: Complex plot, awesome effects, Freeman gives an excellent performance. Cons: May be too harsh for some viewers.
Se7en
The scene opens
Detective Somerset scans the crime scene. Looking for that one clue that can break a case wide open. In the midst of the investigation appears rookie Detective Mills – bad tie and all. What starts as a...
Pros: Great setting of mood, acting, really affects the mind Cons: Overdone at times to be shocking
Since I’ve mentioned Seven a couple of times recently in reviews and comments, I thought it might be time to give it the review treatment. “Seven” AKA “Se7en” (which takes longer to type so I’ll just use the regular word) is a serial killer ...
Pros: Freeman, Pitt and Spacey, Artistic Integrity Cons: Pacing on first viewing
In a movie that grabs your attention by surprise, this flick directed by David Fincher and starring Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt is unusual. In contrast to many modern movies, this one is actually better with every viewing, possibly because you know what...
