Pros: Excellent effects, great story. Cons: Three hours long (but worth it).
I don't usually jump in and write an Epinion on something with hundreds of reviews already but when I noticed that the first page of "Titanic" reviews were predominantly negative I felt my hand was forced.
"Titanic" obviously named after the...

Pros: Looks great Cons: A slick Hollywood product which cheapens its subject
It does the memory of the Titanic's victims a disservice to impose upon cinematic history this cheapened and sensationalized version of events.
Okay, okay, I'll say it up front. The special effects were impressive, yes. The audience at the...

Pros: It's an epic in every sense of the word Cons: The acting is kind of queer when it comes down to it
I admit it -- I thought Titanic would be a fiasco the likes of Waterworld two years ago, the kind of movie you sit through and ask "Why?" the entire time. I wasn't going to see Titanic, until I heard rave reviews all over the place....

Pros: Sweeping epic, tremendous film Cons: Underwritten script, commercial backlash from public
Memories. Sometimes they can bring us the greatest joys of our lives. The memories that we have and share with our loved ones can make us happier than anybody in the world. Sometimes the greatest memories can also be the worst. James Cameron tells us a...

Pros: Excellent cast, acting and story line Cons: Even the 3 hours seem to short
Before watching this movie, I never liked Di Caprio. I thought he was an annoying kid actor, who will never grow up and do any real acting. Since watching Titanic, I have seen him in The Man in the Iron Mask, Celebrity and couple of other movies and can...

Pros: Well! My GOODNESS! At least Rose survived! Cons: Unrealistic, melowdramatic RUBBISH.
... and before you all crucify me with your ever-powerful "NR" lashings, let me add that it was not *I* who made that above comment. A friend of mine blurted it out one night, I laughed, and, every time I think of the movie "Titanic"...

Pros: Leonardo DiCaprio's character dies, foreshadowing Leonardo DiCaprio's career. Cons: It's long, it's simplistic and made for teenyboppers. I don't want to see Kate Winslet naked. And I don't want to see a close-up of Gloria Stuart's wrinkly old eye.
I know a guy who has one strong conviction in his life: that he will never see Titanic. "Wow," I said. "Never? Not even if Cameron Diaz and Gisele tied you down and offered you sex if only you'd watch it?"

Pros: keeps you on the edge of your seat, Great love story, Cons: none
I have fallen in love with many movies in the past but not one interested me as much as Titanic did. Like most Titanic lovers I thought the love story was great. I don’t know many people who would not dream of falling in love like Rose and Jack did but...

Pros: Great story and special effects and music Cons: none
Maybe I am a romantic fool but this movie really was something. Actually my husband and I did not even go to see it until it had been in the movies for about two months. After all what is the rush we all know the ship sinks in the end so why bother to...

Pros: Fair movie, some well done scenes, costumes and manners of the time are interesting. Cons: Slow pace, boring setup, fake-looking special effects, trite love story.
I just saw "Titanic" today (11/26/00), years after it was released, and I'm not at all impressed. While it's a fair movie, I can't begin to believe it's the award-winning juggernaut that its box office performance, and popular acclaim,...

Pros: acting, story, special effects Cons: a bit too long
This wasn't the best disaster film I have seen. It also wasn't the best love story I have seen. But this was the best combination of the two I have seen, by far.
The addition of the relationship between Leonardo and Kate was a wondrously...

Pros: Wonderful love story, awesome portrayal of the sinking of the Titanic Cons: VERY moving ending - even more so, because this is exactly how it might have been.
I saw Titanic when it came out in the theaters. I went with my teenage daughter who is a BIG Leo DiCaprio fan (okay, i'm a big fan too!). The basic story underlying the whole movie is based on historical fact. Who hasn't seen documentaries on the...

Pros: The Titanic is modelled very well, in all her beauty and glory Cons: A selfish exploitation by Cameron, using tragedy and second rate actors to sell his film
"Iceberg right ahead!" "Bloody big thing, can't possibly be a berg, way too big!" "No, wait it isn't a berg, it's bloody Jimmy Cameron's ego!"
Cameron has once again established himself as an egotistical director...

Pros: Leonardo Di'Caprio and Kate Winslet were both superb! Cons: None.
The director of this movie did a very superb job in directing this movie. Everyone did their lines so well. Leonardo Di'Caprio and Kate Winslet really were a smash in this movie! I like both of them and their performance! They did such a superb job!...

Pros: well it is something to shout about Cons: just that too many people were shouting
The movie was good. The gazillion people fawning over it was bad. perhaps i would've really enjoyed it if the radio stations didn't play the titanic theme song (by celine dion) 10 thousand times a day when it first came out. Lest us not forget...
