Pros: Jason Lee.. well.. everything Cons: May gross some folks out. heh.
Hi! It's me again... going against the grain. I know there are a ton of reviews already for this film, but I can't see it sit there at 2 lonely stars, so I'm going to go ahead and post my own review.. at 5 stars. I loved this movie! So there. Based ...
Pros: acting by the four leads, good cinematography, story works well for the most part Cons: Morgan Freeman, whole military angle feels hollow
Adaptations of novels can be a dicey thing. Usually, the more I like the novel, the more disappointed I seem to be by the film adaptation. This seems to be especially true in the case of Stephen King novels. As good as they are, the ...
Pros: Great acting, special effects, good emotional adaptation... Cons: Change to ending, military presence detracts from story...
I avoid 7pm opening weekend shows like the plague. But for some bizarre reason, I decided to view Dreamcatcher on just such a night, and was pleased with both the film and the relatively hushed audience.
Pros: Great setting in the snowy woods. Using a pistol as a cell phone...HAHAHA! Cons: Compromised ending, military subplot is intrusive. Without the book it's a mess.
Dreamcatcher is one of Stephen King's finest novels. The thing literally kept me awake all hours of the night for as long as I was reading it. (Of course, to be fair, I work overnight) All I wanted to know was what was going to happen next....
Pros: Stephen King and sci-fi fans will enjoy it. Cons: The film did not include one of the trailers I saw on TV.
It’s Friday night so grab a blanket, turn off the lights and get ready to cuddle. I recently bought one of Blockbusters hottest new release a sci-fi thriller from director Lawrence Kasdan titled Dreamcatcher. I wanted to see ...
Pros: Performances, special effects, directing, cinematography, in that order Cons: Scatological focus gets a bit much, Morgan Freeman is miscast
The movie version of Stephen Kings book of the same name turned out to be better than expected. I was not a great fan of the book, although it has the touch of the master . The story has all the elements that continue to make the horror writer one of ...
Pros: Morgan Freeman, Thomas Jane, Jason Lee, Damian Lewis, Timothy Olyphant, Tom Sizemore and Donnie Wahlberg. Cons: Ending breaks from the novel.
Dreamcatcher,
$6.97 Amazon.com, is a widescreen DVD adapted from the Stephen King novel released by Scribner in 2001. Only a handful of movies based on Mr. King's work have achieved award-winning ...
Pros: Starts out slow and intriguing then bloody and finally interesting. Cons: A little long.
It seems every time Stephen King writes a new book it is picked up and released as a movie. Some are hits, some are misses. On the surface I thought Dreamcatcher was a miss. My wife has a dreamcatcher hanging above her side of the bed and I coul ...
Pros: Musical score, two of the actors. Cons: Everything else, basically.
Thirty minutes into Dreamcatcher would suggest that it could turn out to be a very good film indeed. When one realises that another hour and a half were to follow from a storyline this thin, one would assume that disaster most definitely was ...
Pros: Some of the cinematography and special effects. Cons: Some lapses in story logic. Uninspired performances.
The screenplay adaptation by William Goldman and Lawrence Kasdan follows Stephen Kings intermittently obtuse novel as closely as one could expect, sometimes to a fault. But it also actually improves some aspects by streamlining certain plot...
Pros: Acting and effects Cons: Just a ridiculous plot, no wooing writing skills to impress me
Oh dear, what a mess
You know, some things just weren't meant to be seen. There are some stories that when in print are in their natural state and you really shouldn't go messing with nature. When I read the book, I thought the plot...
Pros: Direction isn't bad. Cons: Everything else is.
Perhaps other disagreed, but I found Stephen King's D
reamcatcher
to be a magnificent piece of writing, compelling and enchanting in every way. While the sci-fi thriller was pumped with some cheesy philosophy and what ...
Pros: Good Use of Metaphor, Interesting Characters, Decent Acting Cons: Ending, Plot Holes Big Enough To Drive a Tank Through, Col. Curtis, Spells Everything Out
For years, I have been trumpeting the instant credibility a movie by Terry Gilliam or P.T. Anderson has when it is released based on the concept that they have created two of the greatest movies of all time ("Brazil" and "Magnolia," respectively). I ...
Pros: Final Flight of the Osiris Cons: where do I begin..
-INTRO-

Beings from another realm seem to be among the more popular subjects that Stephen King has incorporated into his mass collecting of writings over and over again. Many of these writing have...
Pros: brilliant cinematography, photography, musical score, plot, originality Cons: could have been more scary, slopping ending, not for the weak-stomachs
In one of the most extraordinary scenes I've seen in a long time, our heroes gaze out their cabin window to the sight of animals on the run. Not just a few or any one particular kind of animal, we're talking about the entire kingdom. From rabbits to...
