Pros: outstanding portrayal by Henry Ian Cusick and narration by Christopher Plummer, Biblically rooted Cons: unnecessarily repetitious in spots
Back in 2004, I debated whether I would be shirking my duty as a Christian filmgoer if I failed to attend a showing of Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ. While I applauded Gibson's determination to craft a film that conveys the extent of ...
Pros: It is literally word for word...amazing Cons: It can get slow in a few places
John 3:16 is probably one of the most recited passages in the Bible. I’m sure 99% of you have heard it before. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” ...
Pros: Great presentation of the Book of John Cons: Long, long, long.
How the heck can a Christian review The Gospel of John and remain objective? This recently-converted Methodist will certainly have trouble doing so, but I'll give 'er the old college try. Interestingly, there seem to be a number of films coming ...
Pros: generally true to Scripture, superb acting, powerful story Cons: a few anachronisms, initially dizzying cinematography
In my forty-seven years of existence, it would be hard to count all the Biblical movies and TV programs I've seen. With the possible exception of The Ten Commandments I always lament the inaccuracies or hokey portrayals. The Gospel of John i ...

Pros: None Cons: Everything - and I mean everything!!!!!!
This movie was absolutely horrible. The acting was cheesy and unbelievable and the narration was boring. I hated every long minute of this 3 hour flop of a flick. I have never seen so many people divided on the issue either. I read a review in the paper after seeing this that it got one star out of four. Well that is not very good. However here all the others seem to LOVE this film and I mean love. As did two other of the women I went to see this with. The other two? They had the same opinion. Make your own if you really want to sit through this terror.
