Two Brothers~It's A Jungle Out There~And Not Always A Happy One For These Tigers!

by ifif1938 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 100, Aug 02 '06
Pros: Magnificent scenery. Beautifully photographed. Touching and heartwarming story
Cons: The tragic facts of the Tigers present day existence is all too true.
I had heard of the movie Two Brothers when a friend of mine suggested I rent the DVD knowing that I’m a “cat Person” and one who obsesses on wildlife preservation of all species...So one night I noticed it was going to be on one of ...

Twice the Tigers is Twice as Nice

by bilbopooh bilbopooh is a Top Reviewer on Epinions in Movies, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Jul 26 '04
Pros: beautiful cinematography, heartwarming
Cons: violent at times
There were several films this summer that I knew about and was looking forward to for months in advance: Shrek 2, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, The Village… But one movie appeared to me out of nowhere on a television ...

One of the worst displays of sugary goodness in years. (LNMIII)

by carl_lazarevic Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Dec 14 '04
Pros: expressive tigers, cinematography
Cons: acting, dialogue, writing
Two Brothers is the story of two sibling Tigers. Born in the jungles of early 20th century Cambodia these siblings live somewhat of an idilic life. One is a quiet withdrawn little mammas boy while the other is the braver rogue that looks out for his ...

All New Tigers Gone Wild!

by trust12345 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Jul 09 '04
Pros: The tigers; cinematography; locales (Buddhist temples and jungles of Cambodia); Guy Pearce
Cons: The rest of the cast; flimsy characters; contrived and predictable story; rather scary for kids
Two Brothers, a live action tiger drama, is a film I really wanted to love— after all, I’m a “cat” person, and better yet, one who has just adopted two sibling kittens (a brother and sister, but close enough). Indeed there are ...

The cover states 'family favourite' ... I think not!

by cheekyred23 , May 10 '06
Pros: Beautiful cinematography, tigers are wonderful.
Cons: Acting, dialogue and has the obligatory unrealistic happy ending.
Well, well well, I'm home sick and watching a whole array of movies I have never seen before and this cute little flick caught me eye, made by the director (Jean-Jacques Annaud) of The Bear (which is far, far superior) Two Brothers is aimed as a ...

Tiger, tiger, boring, trite

by SKAD13 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Jun 23 '04
Pros: Some fascinating opening scenes
Cons: A lot of unpleasantness about man's cruelty to animals
Don't let the cutesy ads fool you--Two Brothers is most unpleasant. In a summer that brings us thoughtful family films such as Harry Potter 3 and The Terminal, the brainpower behind Two Brothers comes off as chintzy and ...

Couldn't Bear It

by protoguy , Jun 25 '04
Pros: Cute Tigers romping after butterflies
Cons: Adults might distract the kids with their snores.
I had the opportunity to see a sneak preview of Disney's new film, Two Brothers, directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud, the same who had helmed The Bear, a sweet, sad beauty of a film about an orphaned Bear. This latest from him is by far it's inferior. Set ...

You'll Laugh, You'll Cry, Your Heart Will Melt

by munkwunk , Jul 15 '04
Pros: Gorgeous tigers, playful scenes, heart warming scenes.
Cons: Evil poachers, a few slow scenes.
I'm not afraid to admit it: despite being a grown man, this movie brought tears to my eyes on several occasions. Some times it was because the scenes were so amusing that laughter abound, and some times I was heart broken. This is definitely not your ...

The movie "Two Brothers" is a horrifying experience for children!
by cobya ,Aug 07 '06
Pros: There isn't anything about this movie that has an ounce of worth.
Cons: Two Brothers depicts scenes of animals being shot and killed, a disaster for young children.
Within the first fifteen minutes of this movie two tigers are brutally killed. This was the most disgusting and horrifying movie I have ever seen! What is so appalling is this is a movie portrayed for young children. What child wants to see animals shot and killed? I am so thankful I didn't take my nephews to watch this movie. I am hoping that by writing this review that I may spare other parents and children from watching this movie.

Family flick - a "must see" on the big screen
by MandyJane ,Jul 12 '04
Pros: Fabulous, eye feast, big screen wonderment
Cons: May be a slow story for youngsters
The movie "Two Brothers" is a fantastic movie to see on the big screen because of the authentic scenery and gorgeous animal views. It is not a typical silly kid movie, it is deeply moving and sweet and inspirational, all about relationships over time. Our 12 year old son loved the film, which surprised me because it really was kind of "slow" for a kid and focused more on higher level things like relationships, so I was glad he liked it. Be prepared that it is often sad and you won't be a fan of humans!
