Pros: A serious improvement over the Taurus, acceptable interior quality, price. Cons: ABS only optional, not as quick as competition, ho-hum factor, frumpy 6-speed. The Bottom Line: The Fusion is a serious improvement over the Taurus, but not serious enough..
It's perplexing how long Ford has been able to keep its Taurus in production. For twenty years now, the Taurus has been notorious for being a mechanical nightmare, offered some of the lowest quality in its class, and carried a resale value that made ...

Pros: Price, sophisticated exterior, generally competent
Cons: Disjointed interior, not especially fun to drive, poorly shaped rear seat
The Bottom Line: A viable Camry or Accord substitute, but don't expect driving thrills.
In recent years the Ford Taurus has been in between size classes. To more directly match the competition, Ford is replacing it with two cars, the much roomier Volvo-based Five Hundred and the Camry-sized, Mazda6-based Fusion. On paper the Fusion seems a ...

Pros: edgy exterior design, lots of controls on steering wheel, decent power for money Cons: ugly interior textures, not an especially smooth or quiet ride The Bottom Line: The Fusion is for those who want a relatively inexpensive, sporty sedan with a 200 horsepower V6. There are more suitable options for drivers who would prefer a luxurious car.
INTRODUCTION AND INTERIOR I drove the Ford Fusion V6 SEL with leather seats. Generally, I'm a fan of Ford products, but the Fusion just doesn't do it for me. I usually only bring up other reviewers when they contrast my own opinion, but not in ...

Pros: Interior room, Styling, Comfort, price, number of standard options. Cons: interior material finishes. anemic 4 cyl and 5spd auto combination. The Bottom Line: Overall it is exactly what I was looking for, a great car with a good balance of affordability, safety and size, and styling. A few negatives, that are easily overlooked.
In reading reviews on this car I never found a single professional review on the base model 4 cylinder. Only the $26K SEL with the V6. So I hope this helps. I was looking for a good commuter car that was of reasonable size that I could put my 5 ...

Pros: At least Ford is trying Cons: Driving position, transmission shifting The Bottom Line: An intriguing new entry in a competitive class with far to many flaws to even dream of rising to the top just yet...
When the Fusion first came out last year, it was on my list of midsized sedans to check out as I sought to buy my first car as a member of the real world. Many factors, most notably that green stuff I don't have enough of, led me to buy a used car ...

Pros: Handling, front end styling, interior DESIGN is nice, nice sized trunk Cons: Interior EXECUTION, engine power, overall styling, rear view out The Bottom Line: A competitor, but there are other cars that do a lot of things better.
So I popped by and got another look at a Fusion today. Only had a 4 banger model to drive, so I decided to take it out for spin to see where it sat in the hierarchy of the other 4 bangers in the class- Altima, Accord, Camry specifically. The ...

Pros: Room, comfort, stereo Cons: uneven interior, performance The Bottom Line: If you feel you have to buy a Ford then buy this one.
We got this car to hide some upside down money in a truck we had no room for. That is really the only reason you would go to Ford, to get 1,000's of $ of the price of the car. The Fusion is Ford's attempt at chipping away at the mid size sedan segment ...

Pros: roomy, great styling, plenty of power (4 cyl), the 17" wheels are cool looking. Cons: Tricky to get used to take offs, but that may just be me The Bottom Line: I would highly recommend this car, it is a great car, and I am not sold on Fords very easily.
I now own a new Fusion SEL with a 4 cyl & a 5 Speed automatic with the 17" SEL 5 (split) Spoke rims with P225/VR50 Michelin Pilot MXM4 tires. After spending 3 years with the 2003 Ranger me and my wife owned, a moped would have been better. ...

Pros: For the price comfort and sport all wrapped in one Cons: Steering is to loose at higher speeds, poor visibility in rear window The Bottom Line: If you are willing to give up the sports car handling and want the style and comfort than this is a good car.
I bought the 2006 Ford Fusion about a week ago. I wanted something that looked a little sporty but I also wanted something that was comfortable. My husband is 6 foot and is quiet comfortable in it. He even road in the back just to see what it would ...

Pros: Price, Room, Ride, Fuel Cons: When I find them I will let you know. The Bottom Line: I would buy this car if you are in the market because of the bang for your buck!
When selecting a car I was not so concerned about the look as I was about the price I would pay for the car and the price I would pay at the pump. I also wanted a car that was comfortable for this 250 lb, 6’ 3” man. What a surprise that I found what I ...

Pros: Handles beautifully. Quiet ride (mine does) very comfortable seats, roomy, great climate control. Cons: Turning radius, could be a little better. The Bottom Line: Very pleased with the performance and appearance of this car. High tech style inside and out. Quiet ride, roomy and sporty. As Fun as a Sports Car. LOVE IT!
The Fusion is very impressive to look at. The lights, grill, tires and lines are striking. This is my third Ford Vehicle and so far my favorite. I've test driven a Camry and liked the Fusion much better. It's sporty yet has a luxury feel and it's ...

Pros: Price, comfort, well equipped and lots of pep from a 4 cylinder Cons: Handles like a much larger car, ABS optional. The Bottom Line: If you want luxury, options and performance at an economy price this is the car for you.
Ford's replacement for the original Taurus is a perfect 'Fusion' of price, performance and style. I can't begin to say enough positive things about my Fusion SEL. It's roomy, comfortable and stylish for a mid-size sedan and its 2.3L Intec 4 engine ...

Pros: Front grille, drives well, 6-disc CD changer in dash, beautiful interior, lots of compliments! Cons: Would've gone with a 6-cylinder instead, but love it anyway! The Bottom Line: Definitely test drive this car, you will fall in love with it!!
I turned in my Ford Escape last May and I decided to lease the 2006 Ford Fusion SE, 4 cylinder. I went with the Charcoal Beige color. It looks dark beige during the day and dark charcoal gray at night. Upon picking it up, I fell in love with everything ...

Pros: Edgy styling, responsive handling, good material feel, base price, stereo, reat seat room. Cons: I-4 acceleration and noise, HVAC noise/slow speed, overall fit and finish, visibility, over-the-top styling.
The Fusion is a good buy with it's low base price, edgy styling, responsiveness, good material feel, and a kickin stereo. It lacks in overall fit and finish, including the airbag cover being very loose and large gaps. The trip computer is fairly user friendly, but could be a little simpler. The inline four engine has hideously slow acceleration and is extremely noisy. Visibility out the rear is okay at best. Rear seat room is extraordinary. The seats are very velour-ish and tend to grab lint. The white tail lights are an acquired taste, and the large chrome grille is flat out ugly. The Milan has much more subtle looks. The radio is simple to use, but a non-functioning AUX button is a little odd.

Pros: Price, handling, power, look. Great value for the money. Cons: Betty city fuel economy. A little more attention to fit and finish.
This is my first ever American car. I've only bought imports in the past. I have to say I'm quite pleased with the Fusion. Not only was it affordable, but it looks great, handles great and has lots of room.
I test drove the 4 cylinder, not great, go with the V6. Same fuel economy and the V6 has pretty good power.
As for reliability, I've only had the car 2 months, and so far no problems.
If I were to change one thing, it would be and adjustable headrest and offer a better sound system.
