Pros: Styling, strong 3.5, interior materials, sporty handling, premium feel Cons: Cramped rear seat does not fold, intrusive stability control system, weak 2.5, junky shifter The Bottom Line: A much stronger contender than the old IS. But if handling or rear seat room is a top priority, the 3 still has an edge.
The first Lexus IS was a fun car to drive, with a willing six and agile handling, but it was cursed with a tacky, boy-racerish, down-market interior. (Click here

Pros: Styling (inside and out), refinement, power, reliability, technology Cons: Could use more steering feedback, rear-seat space, fuel economy, voice recognition The Bottom Line: Overall, I continue to be satisfied with my decision. This is one sweet ride.
My Search: Before I get to the actual review, I just want to give some context as to what kind of car I am looking for in terms of needs and preferences. This was you'll have a better basis for how my opinion may or may not fit with your own. ...

Pros: Sweet everything . . . . Cons: Expensive, no manual available The Bottom Line: Amazing alternitive to German sports sedans (without all the problems)
I was looking for a nice sport sedan to replace my 2002 BMW 330xi that I had sold a few months ago. I really enjoyed driving of the BMW but the extra features were lacking. BMW tries hard to create a nice environment but I just dont think they have ...

Pros: The IS/350 is a high-performing, fun-driving car also delivers Lexus luxury. Cons: The navigation system is not ready for prime-time. The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a luxury performance sedan, you owe it to yourself to test drive the IS/350.
For those who find reviews that make relevant comparisons helpful, I hope you find this review extremely useful. I reviewed the IS/300 5 years ago when I bought that car off a showroom floor. (...

Pros: Lots of standard features, silky smooth engine and transmission, great exterior and interior design. Cons: Backseat space is relatively small. The Bottom Line: Lexus IS 250/350 is truly an impressive vehicle and you really cannot go wrong with it. Test-drive it on some windy road and you will fall in love with it.
Let me start out by noting that often times, the experience and views on any vehicle is somewhat subjective and each person has his or her own taste. Having said that, I have certainly test driven many vehicles that compete with this IS series of Lexus. ...

Pros: Power, handling, fit and finish, wow factor Cons: "15,000 mile" tires... (figure 900 to a grand to replace), munchkin sized back seat, The Bottom Line: Two thumbs up... great car.. if you are enthusiasts who appreciates quality... this is your car
OK... Lexus has built a lot of winners... much to the dismay of those who worship the luxo cruisers and sport sedans the roll out of the Fatherland this car does everything you ask of it beyond making those who venture into the back seat comfortable. ...

Pros: Ride-quality, comfort, driving dynamics, standard features, legendary reliability. Cons: Limited rear-window visibility. The Bottom Line: You would be short-changing yourself if you were in the market for a car of this class and you didn't take one for a test drive.
First off, let's stop with all this "it's not a BMW this, and it's not a Mercedes that", and review the Lexus! And in case you haven't checked, you and almost any other driver is not going to be taking it out on the 'road-course-track', so leave the ...

IS350 is THE best value of any car in its class.

Pros: 306HP, not a gas guzzler (310+ on full tank), very smooth and quiet. Cons: Backseat space is very small, Handling can be more responsive.
I looked into purchasing a BMW 3series, Infiniti G35, Audi A4, etc... something that would suit my needs of luxury, speed, and styling. In the end, after lengthy test drives, the IS350 won out. I purchased the Sports package, with Navigation, and ML system. As a daily driver, I couldn't have made a better choice to cruise through LA traffic with.
I also test drove the IS250 AWD, and the IS350 is a much better car suited for me. I need more control and speed, and with the added HP, it was perfect.

If you want a fun car to drive, DO NOT buy this car!

Pros: Very pretty car. The luxury appointments are well done. Cons: Bad visibility from within and sport shifter is disappointing.
2006 Lexus IS 250 AWD 5 cylinder automatic. Very stylish. Nice color choices. I bought a Red Matador model. It is build for a short person. I am 5' 8" and my head is almost touching the roof. Extremely bad visibility from within. With the seat back so that I fit, the front column is blocks your a lot of your front view. All most all the views sideways have very bad blind spots. This car is very difficult to drive in traffic because with all the blind spots changing lanes is a guess. The sport shifter was a huge disappointment. I have driven manual transmissions for over 30 years. The sport shifter is not like a manual transmission. It is like going through the gears of a regular automatic transmission. Bottom line, if you want a car that is fun to drive, DO NOT buy this one. This is just a pretend performance auto. My six year old Honda Accord with a manual transmission is more fun to drive. After five days I'm trying to sell the IS 250 because it is such a disappointment to drive.
