Pros: Small size, sound and features, available accessories Cons: Doesn't support Blue Tooth Technology for wireless head phones. What an idea!!!
I am a Windows user since Windows 3.1 and currently use Windows XP Pro/Home versions. So I was not sure how well the iPod Mini would work with Windows. After I researched, read reviews and talked to people who own the original iPod. I ran out to the ...

Pros: Everything is perfect! Cons: DO NOT UPDATE ITUNES TO THE 4.7 VERSION!
I purchased this iPod in December 2004 as a gift for my husband for Christmas. Of course, I had to be the one to get it up and running. Well, I followed the instructions in the iPod user manual, and all went well. Yes, it is long and drawn out. You've ...

Pros: Design, ruggedness, affordable but not cheap, state of the art sound and easy of use Cons: Everybody who can't afford finds it enviable, no doubt!
I have many things to say about my Ipod Mini. I've bought my mini about two months ago, i use it in my car, when working out, when studying, when i want to listen to music before sleep, etc. I find battery durability very acceptable, i can listen ...

Must have Firewire 6-pin or USB 2.0 !!
by animalcracker ,Dec 23 '04
Pros: Looks nice Cons: I find it ridiculous that apple didn't support USB1.0.
Admittedly, im venting here. I purchased this gadget for a loved one and had hoped to load some meaningful songs before I gave it as a Christmas gift. My laptop has USB 1.0 and a 4-pin firewire port. Neither of which is directly compatible with the mini. Sooo, after hunting around i've discovered that the only options are:
PCMCIA card w/ USB2.0 or 6pin firewire - $50
adapter/cable from apple - ~$40
or I could go on EBay and get a $1 adapter $5 shipping.
Since its 2 days before xmas, can't order online so I guess i'll have to bend over and spend an extra $50.
For a gadget so expensive, they should have considered supporting computers that are 2 or more years old.

iPod
by kreese123 ,Jun 10 '07
Pros: It's so nice to not have to worry about CD's all over your car. Cons: Mine didn't come with any instructions which made it very difficult to figure out.
I bought an iPod to use while I was working out. When I got it home I had no clue how to get the music on it. There were no instructions. I had to figure it out on my own, and talk to other people who had them. Which was very frustrating. When I finally got the hang of it, it was fun. Then I got the attatchment that you put in you car cigerette lighter. That made having an iPod even better. I downloaded all my CD's on it. Which was cool because then I didn't have CD's everywhere in my car. Another good thing is when you like just one song and not the whole CD you can buy just that one song. Another good thing is you can make diffrent playlists to play depending on your mood. One for jamming out and one to relax to and so on. I would definetly buy an iPod again. I love mine.

Great iPod!
by sexycheeka13 ,Feb 05 '07
Pros: Holds lots of songs and does not break easily. Cons: None.
I got mine for free but if I had to buy it, I would love it just as much. Hold 1,000 songs, and they are small. I would not buy anything else, also the battery is vary good. I went on a trip and it lastes 7 hours without being charged.

Typical support frustration
by dstribeca ,Apr 24 '05
Pros: Works well as a paperweight Cons: Poor support from apple, wasted time trying to make a defective unit work
Like the three previous IPods I've owned, this one needed to be repaired. This was the second one that was defective new out of the box. As with all of the previous ones, dealing with Apple is completely unsatisfying. Who wants to wait two weeks for them to repair a brand new device?

Most excellent
by nzid ,Jul 18 '07
Pros: Everything worked perfectly. Cons: It wasn't cheap.
The screen is bright and clear. The sliding touch movement of the menu is cool. The software worked perfectly the first time, without any necessity for help screen, etc. It was intuitive and very user friendly. For a NZ$400 investment, I am well pleased, so far.

bad bad bad
by taani ,Nov 03 '08
Pros: mini Cons: everything else
Now I know why they discontinued these product. I've had 2 because my first one completely died and my 2nd one keep telling me my battery is dead but it's really not. it keeps shutting off, very annoying and aggravating. DO NOT BUY THIS IPOD...maybe try any of the other ones.

Really worth the $250.00?
by ericc89 ,Jan 02 '05
Pros: Light weight, small, lots of songs, click wheel. Cons: Price, Battery life.
This is a pretty good MP3 player. It is a little bit pricey for what it is. But its a real quality product. For the price, it ought to come with a color screen or something. The click wheel is pretty cool, it doesn't spin or anything, just roll your finger over it to scroll through your songs, volume, etc. Since I have had it for a few months now, the battery life isn't as long. I don't know if it's because I fall asleep listening to it or what. But I end up having to charge it about 2-3 times a week and it takes about 5 hours to do so.

Apple sure knows how to build them. However there CPU's still suck
by barnacules ,Sep 03 '05
Pros: Durability, Style, Interface, Sound Quality, Size, Battery Life Cons: Screen, Internal Battery
The iPod mini is the best portable media player I have used to date. I have owned a Creative Rio, Creative MuVo and a Samsung Yepp and all of them fall way short of the iPod. This unit really shines because of its interface. Most MP3 players are not completely comfortable to opperate with a single finger because they are covered in buttons. This unit localizes all of the controls into one touch senstive wheel on the front of the unit. It makes moving though playlists and songs at very high speeds possible which is impossible with the other players I have owned. The iPod also has the best sound quality I have ever heard from any portable device. The sound is loud and crystal clear and the bass is very pronounced even when using the ear buds that come with the unit. The battery life is amazing lasting 12+ hrs per charge and the construction is almost 100% metal which in this day and age is pretty unheard of which makes this unit look slick and very durable.

great product! best iPod available for most people.
by jotto4 ,Nov 13 '04
Pros: lightweight, small, sooo easy to use, innovative design Cons: none except the cost.
Second best thing I've bought for my wife next to her engagement ring! She LOVES it. She uses it in the car, at the gym and at home. I bought a Griffin Tech iTrip for the car and we have wires connected to our 2 stereo systems in the house. My wife's music is at her fingertips at all times.
the iPod mini is so small! if you are a fan of small cell phones, you will love this mp3 player. the click wheel make scrolling and selecting what you want nearly automatic. the pink ipod mini in a pink leather case is the perfect accessory for any woman who enjoys music. battery life is very good (about 8 hours from full charge to discharge)
The sync to her computer is seemless. Apple is the best at creating easy-to-use software. I've used iTunes on a PC and a Mac. I have to admit it is a little bit easier on the Mac.
ITunes Music store built into itunes software is very easy to navigate, almost too easy to buy songs!!
no way you can be disappointed with this product.

A nice little player in a nice little package
by carlasa ,Sep 14 '05
Pros: Apple, Accessories, Ease of use, Price Cons: Apple, Accessories are $$$, Could be more exciting
I bought a 4gb mini about 6 months ago for $200. I then bought a skin for it ($20) and a wall charger ($30).
It had been great for those 6 months until last week when something happened. When playing songs, it would randomly switch between pause and play by itself and would shuffle songs.
I was ready to trade in for a new nano, but I decided to take a stab at updating the firmware since I hadn't done it in a while. Well to my great surprise, it fixed the problem. Mini works fine once again.
I was just a little surprised that firmware could just start acting up like that just because it needed to be updated.
Aside from that... I wish the apple accessories were a bit cheaper, and perhaps a more exciting look to the player (boring look/screen)...

Inconvenient
by hartfordaromas ,Jan 11 '06
Pros: smaller than a walkman Cons: Eats up my time to program/troubleshoot.
Unreliable, hard-to-use, on my third replacement and it takes forever to get service. Sound quality depends on fewer bytes than windows media player codecs.
