Pros: Uses less energy, water, detergent & is compact Cons: A little expensive
After only 6 years, my 12 year old used Whirlpool top-loading washer finally gave out. It agitated the clothes just fine, but the water just wouldn't drain! So we bailed and bailed and bailed. I think we must have bailed out at least 20 gallons of...

Pros: Energy efficient. Clothes are cleaner. Cons: Hard to get repaired!
I've had an Asko W600 washer & matching stack dryer since January 2000. I LOVE the way it cleans my clothes--no bleach, no stain removers, and my whites are white! Once in awhile I'll have a particularly tough stain, I just toss it in with another load...

Pros: Small and fits under the counter Cons: Takes to long to do a load of wash
The reason I purchased this washer I owned 2 Asko dishwasher and loved them. I wanted an under counter washer for my new home.I paid 2times what I could have purchased an american machine. Small loads are a fact, but not the worst feature, are you ready...

ASKO W600 Issues
by shmorg ,Oct 27 '06
Pros: Easy on water, but who cares if it doesn't live up to the European name Cons: Breaks down lots, small loads
I have owned my Asko W600 set for 7 years and have had to repair 3 times and now the motor is gone. It is very hard to find anyone who will touch the repair and the service rep wants $518.00 to install a new motor. Would not recommend Asko to any of my friends.

W600 - Great washing, terrible reliability & cust svc
by deriv0 ,Sep 16 '04
Pros: Great cleaning ability, very efficient, and fun to use(really!). Cons: Expensive, horrible reliability and customer service, prohibitively expensive to repair.
Well, I agree with everything kaugirl has to say in the first review about the efficiency, cleaning ability, etc. of the Asko. I find that my laundry takes closer to two hours, but since the wash is gentle, I almost always use the two longest cycles of the washer unless I'm in a hurry. The quick wash cycle is under one hour if I need to rush.
Unfortunately, during my 3 years of full warranty, I had to have the washer repaired two times for water pump failures. I didn't mind that much, since it was free, although still not exactly confidence-inspiring and inconvenient. Now, in my fourth year, the motor has failed. While the motor is under warranty, the labor is not, and all their authorized reps want at least $250 for the repair. They won't honor the motor warranty if anyone else(myself included) does the repair. Considering Asko's overall reliability record, and this particular machines problems, I'm pretty sure I'll replace the machine instead of throwing good money after bad. Also, their customer service is probably the worst of the appliance makers I've had to deal with.
