Cons: The breadpan is thinner/cheaper in construction than some competing brands.

I found the online descriptions of this product and the box packaging itself a bit misleading.

The box states on the top flap that it can make horizontal loaf, yet the TR555 in the box uses the typical vertical pan.

The online descriptions also state a 3lb capacity., while the literature included states a max of 2lb.

Pros: Easy to use; easy to clean; size.
Cons: Crusts come out a bit dark; "Medium" is DARK, so I'd stay with "Light".

I purchased the Breadman TR555(C) because I was curious about bread machines, and the prices have come down dramatically in the past few years. I did a fair amount of research, and found good and bad reviews about every machine I considered; so I settled on this machine, because it had a pause function, beeper for adding fruit/nuts, a sufficient timer to set it the evening or morning before I needed the bread to bake, and the size meant it wasn't going to take over my entire kitchen counter. So far, I've been successful with every loaf I've made (baking the fifth loaf as I type), although the recipes could use some spiffing up. I'll learn to modify the recipes once I get over my beginner's jitters; I'm new to breadbaking and so will be careful with changing recipes while I get used to working with yeast. The mixing/kneading cycles work well; I was impressed to see that the small paddle is able to get all the ingredients out of the corners of the pan.

Ok, I love bread. I love making it, and I love eating it. We bought this item 4-5 years ago at Target and I still love it. I recently saw the same model at Bed Bath & Beyond at the same price. It makes bread making a breeze. Before we bought this bread maker, I made it myself, and it took forever to rise sometimes. But now...its a breeze!
About a year ago though, I was making a loaf and while it was kneading, the whole appliance fell off of the counter. I guess it just moved to much. We have tile flooring so I was sure it was broken. However, I'm still using it! Talk about quality. It works the same as when I first bought it.

I received this as a gift last Christmas.Up until that time it was kneading the dough.
This little machine is terrific!!I can use any kind of bread recipe , even from my European cookbooks and the bread comes out ...perfect!! It takes me 10 minutes to put the ingredients in...and let this little wonder do it's job. Have not had one messed up or bad loaf....all bake just perfect.
It's pretty simple to use too...
