Pros: Decent Color, Fantastic Controls, Pretty Long battery life between charges Cons: Rough reception at times, zoning in on certain channels.
I have been buying portable, compact TVs for my family and I since the mid-1980s. Long gone are the heavy, boxy, weak-reception black-and-white models that dominated things before the 1980s. Like most electronics, what once cost in the $300-$350 range, ...

Pros: Good sound. GREAT price. Good battery life. Cons: Washed out image. Questionable Construction. Mediocre reception.

Good resolution, bad reception
by niqueklickt ,Feb 15 '05
Pros: Design, sound quality, resolution of the screen Cons: Reception quality, Image Quality: Wrong and washed out colors
I bought the EV-680 as monitor for programming TV-movies on my HDD-DVD-recorder - I have a LCD-Projector which I don't want to switch on only for programming (the projector lamps hates being put on only for short moments). Fot this job
the good resolution of Casio's Screen is very useful - even little letters are visible (with sharp eyes...).
On the other side - the reception quality is very bad. In comparison with my Casio TV-980, which costed a third of the EV-680: The EV-680 gets less channels, it doesn't seem to be stable, and often the picture is double. The cheap TV-980 has not this problems!
And the colors? They are washed out very much, indeed, as it was written in a earlier review (I wouldn't have believed it before) - the colors are wrong (almost too warm)and the contrast is much too high: Dark colors doesn't exist; there's only black.
The sound quality is very good - much better than this of the TV-980.
