Okay but not great

by ark76 , Aug 19 '09
Pros: Looks good, fair price, lightweight
Cons: Soft wood, scratches easily, tough to find the right size mattress
The Da Vinci Emily 4-in-1 convertible crib is a full size convertible crib with no drop sides. No drop sides means it is safer for baby. It converts into a day bed, a toddler bed and of course, it is a crib to begin with. So it grows with your ...

Nice crib at an affordable cost for a convertible

by iluvbewitched , Apr 17 '05
Pros: Attractive easy to assemble and adjust includes tools
Cons: paints scratches easily mobiles hard to use back strain when reaching down on lowest level
This is a nice, solid sturdy crib that was relatively easy to assemble. My husband had it put together in about 30-40 minutes. It comes with the headboard, footboard, 2 side rails, toddler bed attachment (security rail), mattress spring, and the ...

A very lovely crib, indeed!

by discotish , Jan 16 '04
Pros: Lovely style and practical for many years after the child has grown.
Cons: Will not easily accommodate crib mobiles.
UPDATED *** Feb. 2007*** After doing a lot of looking around, my husband and I decided to purchase the "Emily" crib from the Million Dollar Baby Co. One of the things I liked about the crib was the nice flowing lines and the lack of spindles and harsh ...

Da Vinci Emily Crib - Quality at an affordable price

by mom2colin , Mar 09 '07
Pros: Cute, functional, well made, convertible, strong
Cons: Dents and scratches easily, wide top rails
We bought this crib a few weeks before my son was born. We chose the Coffee color. I chose this particular crib over other ones because of the convertible options, the sleigh bed style, the color and the price could not be beat. First, the ...

Wonderful addition to our nursery!

by chaoticfun , Jan 30 '08
Pros: Beautiful, different, easy to operate, easy to move after assembled
Cons: seems to scratch easily
This was the first major baby item that we purchased when we found out I was pregnant. We went to a local baby boutique and checked out all the baby beds they had, and we loved this one from the moment we saw it. From that point forward, it was our ...

Beautiful crib, but will it last?

by gooseygoo , Mar 17 '04
Pros: Stylish, crib to toddler to full size frame, affordable
Cons: Scratches and dents WAY too easily
No doubt, this is one gorgeous crib. But the wood is incredibly soft, leaving me to wonder if it can make it thtough the toddler years without getting trashed! I purchased the crib from babycenter.com after falling in love in the store. It's very nice ...

Great Inexpensive Crib

by moparmay , Jul 08 '07
Pros: Great, inexpensive, sturdy bed
Cons: Finish scratches easily.
We purchased this 3-in-one crib before our daughter was born. The instructions weren't the easiest to understand, but we did get it put together in a reasonable amount of time. It has been a great crib for the past three years and recently converted it ...

Great Buy
by kerianngarcia ,May 15 '07
Pros: Price, style.
Cons: Directions are only pictures, step by step would have been more helpful.
I purchased this crib online and based my purchase on previous reviews. Although we had to review the instructions several times, my husband and I put this together with relative ease. The crib is very attractive and feels incredibly sturdy. The enclosed attachment for the toddler/daybed conversion is also very nice. All in all, this was well worth what I paid for it. Baby boy does not arrive until July so we will see how he likes it then.

Did the other reviewers actually use the crib??
by echo_i ,Jun 26 '08
Pros: Looks good
Cons: potential hazard
We bought this crib and used this crib, and in hindsight, we should have returned it. Unfortunately, we didn't have a mattress for it until later, so we didn't realize that there was a problem. Standard mattresses are too small for this crib. Using a standard crib mattress creates a hazard due to space between the sides of the crib and the mattress. Be very careful if considering this product. We did send a message to the manufacturer pointing out the potential hazard, but no response was received.

DaVinci Emily Crib
by jpritchard4 ,Apr 24 '06
Pros: Highly recommended
Cons: I hate nothing about his product.
I love this crib. I original bought this crib for my daughter. She is now temporarily grown out of it. Now my son is using it. Ones he is out of it I will then give it back to my daughter to use as a double bed. I love how long it has lasted and that it converts into a day bed and then into a double.

Pros: sturdy, solid, clean, semi-easy to put together
Cons: the bar in front does not lower, but it doesnt really need it
We just bought and assembled this crib and we are really happy with it. It was a bit difficult to put together, but once it was done we were impressed with how sturdy and gorgeous it looked. Great quality!

Yes We used the crib
by davids16 ,Dec 31 '08
Pros: Solid construction. Decent price.
Cons: Easily scratched. The assembly directions could have been better.
In response to the review by echo_i: The Emily *does* take a standard mattress. 28" x 52". The Emily is a sturdy basic crib and so far, after a few days use, we are satisfied with it.

matress gap
by icoe ,Jul 05 '09
Pros: nice crib
Cons: mattress sizing is NOT standard
We just put ours together yesterday, and while it is true it is a beautiful, sturdy crib, there is definitely a large matress gap on one end (at least three inches, far exceeding what all the experts say is a major safety hazard) when using our standard-sized mattress that I made sure was a very snug fit on several other standard-sized cribs before purchasing.  I can actually fit my whole hand between the matress and the crib.  The safety check is "if you can fit two fingers between the mattress and the crib".  I know my mattress is a good standard-fit mattress, so the sizing of the crib is definitely not standard.  The standard length of a crib matress is 52".  The crib emily crib length off the site where I bought the crib is 55.5".  Oddly enough the width is also listed as much wider than the standard but that is not a problem with my standard mattress, so I don't know what is going on.  I suppose I should have checked the actual measurements before getting the mattress, but when it says it takes a standard, you assume it takes a standard.
