Pros: Does it all! Sturdy, reliable brand. Cons: Small bread batches, can't handle liquids, ice scratches bowl.
This food processor (identical, in black) was a birthday gift from my mother six months ago. I was kind of wanting a blender, but when we got to the appliance store (Cayne's in Toronto), the display of "jumbo Cuisinarts" kind of sucked me in, and here ...

Pros: powerful, smooth, quiet Cons: very short power cord, food lodges in spring loaded area of bowl
I have had the same Cuisinart food processor for over 25 years and felt it was time for a new one. I was a bit disappointed at some of the changes they made over the years. The biggest problem is the VERY short power cord. I cannot use this machine now ...

Pros: Fast, relatively quiet, huge work bowl. Love the red and chrome color. Cons: New dishwasher doesn't even get the parts clean and each has to be hand-washed.
Have had several other food processors before, and comparatively, this is fantastic. Takes seconds (literally, about 2 seconds) to slice anything. Powerful, relatively quiet, won't start until you have the bowl, lid AND pusher all lined up ...

I CAN'T IMAGINE COOKING WITHOUT IT
by jessicalamay ,Feb 03 '07
Pros: Quick, blades have stayed sharp, looks stylish Cons: Due to its design, it cannot hold liquids without spilling through the bottom.
I bought this as a gift for my husband, but I have since become addicted to it.
It does everything a food processor should, slicing, grating, mixing and so on. I have found it to be reliable, and have had no problems with it in the three years I have owned it.
My only complaint is that the stainless steel one I own, shows finger prints and watermarks, so you have to keep it clean if you are going to leave it on the counter.

Super Trooper in the kitchen patrol
by jt65b4b ,Mar 04 '05
Pros: Sturdily built, easy to assemble, great functionality. Easy cleanup, great power. Cons: Sharp blades. Learn order to process ingredients in bowl. Careful not to scratch bowls.
I purchased this 14 cup processor after seeing it in so many kitchens. Ina Garten uses one extensively on her cooking show, Barefoot Contessa, and trying to recreate her recipes by hand is not easy. I do not aspire to be a sous chef, nor are my chopping skills above par. This item is $199 for the stainless steel version. Out of the box, its a dream. Easy to assemble, easy to use first time. Please be careful of the blades. This machine has razor sharp serrated blades. Learn to lift and hold the blades properly. The DVD included is informative if not a bit dated. Probably the two functions that sold me the most on this unit, is how well it makes pastry crust, and how easily you can prep all your sliced/grated/shredded ingredients for other recipes.

A great valued machine!
by sharonanne2 ,Sep 19 '05
Pros: For the budget minded, you'll be blessed owning this wonderful model. Cons: Doesn't have the Power Prep model's sleek front (easier cleaning and more powerful dough cycle).
I've worked with several food processors models and sizes, for over 25 years. Cuisinart is by far the BEST and this model is a great VALUE and SIZE.
Many Uses: Imagine kneading bread dough to perfection, in as little as 40 seconds! It easily mixes cakes, quick breads, and pie crust's too. Also effortlessly chops, slices and shreds food; plus you can even grind meat.
White Flour: You can make 2 large white loaves* (up to 6 cups flour) in this 14-cup work-bowl, or make soft dinner and sweet rolls.
*Wheat Flour: Because wheat flour's gluten is twice as dense as white flour's, just do 1 loaf, but this 14-cup size easily handles 3 cups of the heavy wheat dough!
Warmly,
Sharon Anne
