Pros: Small, quick windows machine. Cons: Not for games. Half height expansion cards are hard to find.
Dells are known for their computers. I got this computer for my father, because he's not a computer genious, and I wanted something rather foolproof. Well, I got the 3ghz version with the built-in CDRW/DVD combo drive. When it came, the thing was smaller ...
Pros: Just as powerful and quick as a regular-sized computer. Cons: Very limited when adding hardware (due to chassis size and configuration). PS Dell sucks.
My Dell 4600C was bought refurbished from Dell.com and is a decent machine. Great value. However, the specs supplied by Dell.com were incomplete, and when it arrived, I was dismayed to learn that it did not have any IEEE 1394 ports. I had bought it in ...
Pros: Small, quiet, powerful, great support, great price, excellent value Cons: none if you think about it as a space-saver PC.
As a high-tech savvy, at the moment I own four PCs and I bought and maintaining for my relatives three more. One of my computers is a supper portable notebook from Sony, another one I assembled myself and the rest 5 I got from Dell. Probably soon I ...
OVERALL ASSESSMENT Our fairly tech savvy household acquired this computer in early March of 2004. While we did encounter a few surprises (see below), we're completely satisfied with the product performance as well as the value. Overall, I would ...
Pros: Reliable, Fast, plenty of power. Cons: None.
Ive had this sytem for quite some time. It was very affordable and the only thing ive done to it was add an extra gig of ram to make it a fast system that can multi-task without jamming up.
Dells 3 year warranty was great. They are super helpful and when a power surge crashed my hard drive they retrieved all my data, transfered it to a new hard drive and installed it.
Pros: Fast, can handle any type of use (from video games to multi tasking) Cons: A few problems with the optical drive and hard to find hardware upgrades
Obviously since this system can be configured to order, the performance is going to depend on your order. I purchased this system to take with me my first year of college. I wanted a desktop with high performance that wouldn't take up too much room in my freshman dorm room. I configured my Dell 4600c to have a 2.8ghz Intel Pentium IV with Hyper threading, an 80 gig HD, 1gb dual channel PC3200 RAM (you can go up to 2gb if you use PC2700), and a DVD/CD Writer. I multi-task often and this system is great for that (usually running AOL, 3-10 windows of IE, itunes, MS Word, and a few bit torrents at any given time). The system had empty PCI and AGP slots (both low profile which can be very hard to find) so I was able to modify the system to play video games. I have had a few problems with the optical drive (didn't function correctly out of the box). I replaced it with a faster drive, which worked fine until I reformatted the system.

Pros: Looks,
Quality,
Customer Support,
Works Excellent. Cons: Might be more expensive than having one built privately.
When I decided to get a computer I went to Dell because I know they are quality products, and I looked at a model a step above the base. I added a graphics card and floppy, and the special was a free DVD burner. Overall I have been extremely impressed with the computer. The keyboard is nice and quiet, and the keys make typing faster and easier than before. The system looks really nice and I am pleased to have a black system that blends in nicely with it's surroundings. It works plenty fine and I have no trouble running any operations. The DVD burner is very fast and a pleasure to use. I would strongly recommend buying this product.
