Pros: Unique CD-Rom storage, solid build, many attachments, big lcd screen, long battery life. Cons: BIG, CD-Rom lowers speed of photos, poor low light performance, a bit pricey.
I had the opportunity to test out the Sony Mavica 200 a year or two ago and really loved the design of it. I loved the idea of using a CD for the storage and found it really well made. I was of course very curious about the evolution of the mavica line ...
Pros: Features list is incredible! CD drive offers massive storage and flexibility. Cons: Bulky size. Slowness of CD drive accesses takes getting used to.
After my film camera died, I decided to go with the digital option to save on the cost and hassle of ...
Pros: Huge storage. Easy transfer to PC. Good battery life. Easy to use. Cons: Some shutter lag. Access to CD time.
I bought this camera at Best Buy for $359.00 plus tax. I did quite a bit of research before hand and I liked the idea of being able to transfer images directly from the CD to my hard drive with just a couple of mouse clicks. I looked at the floppy disk ...
Pros: Great picture quality, smaller size than previous models. Cons: Will not accept some aftermarket batteries.
I already thought highly of my old Mavica CD200 (2.1 mega pixel) camera, of which I bought in the open box form and it worked fine up to the day I sold it. I didn't even want to sell it, but a friend of mine was so impressed with it, and had uses for it ...
Pros: CD-R/CD-RW, Nice Extras Cons: Could be a little bulky for some
This has to be one of the best digital cameras on the market today. I just got this camera for Christmas 03' and I am very impressed. The cd-350 is the next evolution of the floppy disk cameras. To me, using cd-rw's is the way to go because memory ...
Pros: Great photo and sound quality, easy to use! Cons: Expensive, video quality needs work.
I received a Sony Mavica for Christmas three years ago. I had been using a friend's for photography and absolutely loved it. Well my husband bought me one for myself! At the time it cost $700.00 but it was completely worth it! The camera is large enough not to get lost. It has great photo quality and can hold hundreds of pictures before the mini-disc gets full. The battery life is great and very easy to read. It's easy to know when it's time to charge it up. This camera also doubles as a camcorder, being able to take video. The sound quality is fabulous but the picture quality is lacking and has very little definition. If you are looking for a camera that takes excellent video as well as photos, I would look elsewhere. But for photos, this is the best I have ever used!
not bad for a older digital by frannyace ,Mar 17 '07
Pros: easy camera to computer transfer of photos Cons: a ton of little disc sitting around and it is really bulky.
This was our first digital camera and for a first one,it is decent. It was nice,at the time that there isn't a memory card that had to be messed with. You didn't have to take the film to the developer and you could basically take the pictures and then put them directly on your computer. My town have since stopped selling the mini cd's that are used and became a hassle to order them online so we sold it.I didn't like this camera very much because I could never get it to take a "motion" picture very crisp.
Sometimes I HATE this camera by madinnh ,Oct 01 '07
Pros: Good photo quality Cons: Also, videos take forever to upload and eat up lots of space.
Whenever I accidentally fill the disc space the camera comes back with a disk error message, and I cannot get at ANY of the pix I've taken. This infuriates me beyond words, and SONY has been no help (all customer service is automated). Sometimes I HATE this camera.
Pros: large storage capacity, large LCD - TFT screan, features and options, heavy duty Cons: a bit pricey, slow CD picture/video access (b/c it holds so much information)
I was excited to purchase the Sony Mavica CD350, but I didn't truly appreciate how great it was until we used it on our vacation. The camera takes phenominal pictures and the quality for a 3.2 megapixel camera is second to none! I had my search narrowed down to either this camera or the FD200 and am very happy with my decision. The CD-Rom storage makes things much easier. You don't have to worry about storing pictures on your PC, rather you can save a BUNCH of pictures and videos to that CD disk (I bought 210mb disks - it comes with 156mb). Just label and go! Once you finalize the disk, all you have to do to view is put in your CD drive in your computer and view-away! Everything is top quality and it is easy to work with. A great beginner camera and a fantastic buy all the way around! Two thumbs up!
Pros: Great for the first nine months of ownership. Cons: Hope you don't want to download your photographs, cause you may be SOL.
I've had this camera for about 14 months. For the first 9 months, I had no problems whatsoever. However, in the last couple of months, I have had some pretty serious problems. (Two other people who own the same camera, have the exact same issues.)
This camera will allow you to take pictures, then when getting ready to download to your computer, you recieve a "Disc Error". Or worse yet, the pictures will continue to display on the LCD, but you CANNOT download them at all.
When we placed a call to Sony, they told us our problem was that we were using Memorex CD's. I asked them if that meant we could not play RCA video tapes in our VCR. This was the most ridiculous reason I have ever heard. It is my opinion, the customer service rep had never even seen a digital camera in her entire life.
I would suggest that people stick with Canon or Nikon...someone who knows how to make a camera and has years of experience behind them.
Sony Mavica CD350 Digital Camera by steve7211963 ,Sep 25 '03
Pros: Ease of use. Good quality pictures Cons: None so far
This is my first digital camera. I became somewhat familiar with this type from a friend and was very impressed. So, I took a chance and bought one. I've only had it a week and no complaints. I have alot to learn about it but, what I have done so far has been fairly easy to do. The quality of pictures still amazes me. And the ease of downloading the pics to my computer has made it fun to use. People I show the camera to are surprised by the disk and the number of pictures and video you can save. For a first camera I am more than happy.

Pros: ALL OTHER FEATURES WORK Cons: I can't record more than approx. 8 images
Using the Mavica CDRW disc I cannot record more than 8 images. Message after approx. 9 images is "not enough disc space" I cannot find any local or international site sponsored by Sony offering help with this product. I am an amateur. The camera was bought in New York. Can anyone outhere help me? Please e-mail me at griffo.gofree.indigo.ie
