WOW
by chris6878 ,Nov 24 '04
Pros: Can take amazing amounts of power. Cons: nothing
This sub is amazing. I have 2 of them in a sealed box in a jeep cheerokee and they HIT. I have them hooked up to a jbl bp 1200. They sound great from a any frequency. I have no problems from these subs. I can crank my system up as loud as I want and they luv it. No popping or anything. If you want some subs that are a step below the jl w7's and above the JL-W6 get this sub.

Low End Monster
by jsalti600 ,Nov 30 '04
Pros: Fantastic SPL and SQ with proper power! Can be found for good price. Cons: None!
I have one 8122.4 in sealed 1.8 box, and 600w from a Hifonics Thor. This sub is incredible all around. I've received compliments from every person who has listened. If you want spl, but also want a bass guitar to sound like a bass guitar, then this is a great buy. The dude who's sub is popping has a serious issue! I have had no problems at all, except now I need a bigger amp so I can put the other one in! Only two negetive thoughts are that the push-pin terminals should have a bigger opening to make it easier to wire the dual VC's in parallel with 12 gauge wire, and the aluminum cone may dent/dimple. Neither of these effect the ability of this sub to pound and I don't really consider either a con.

Eclipse 8122 DVC
by garticus ,Sep 17 '03
Pros: Beats very hard between 35 - 65Hz, enveloping you in BASS. Cons: Certain midbass frequencies seems to make the sub 'pop' as if it's bottoming out.
The Eclipse aluminum 8122.DVC 12" subwoofer is a low
frequency monster. Between about 35-65Hz this sub massive output is astonishing. The rubber surround and the
aluminum 'steel' look is a very attractive package with
the ECLIPSE logo etched in the dustcap. I have one sub
in my set-up and it is more than adequate. But the upper
low bass range to the lower mid-bass range makes the sub sound like it's popping. Installed it in a 1.65c.f. box
(way to big), I then stuff the inside to take up some room
reducing the air volume to about 1.20c.f.(should have went
down to about 1.00c.f.), but I occaisionly get that popping noise with music with more midbass info than low bass info.
