Pros: Efficient, hidden behind cabinetry, easy to operate and quiet. Cons: Expensive (but worth it) and a "normal" wash needs to be rinsed.
... after you have two of these sleek, integrated dish drawers installed. I am a recent convert to this and I can tell you that having two dish drawers made me actually enjoy doing dishes. When my husband and I recently decided to do the gourmet ...
Pros: Super quiet. Easy loading of top washer Cons: Too small for families. Can't run both drawers at once, must rinse dishes
First things first. This dishwasher is not for families. We're a family of three and eating three meals a day at home requires us to run the dishwasher at least twice a day--not including pots and pans. It's just too small. And running both drawers at once is not really an option since it does affect performance contrary to company claims. And you must rinse before placing dishes inside. One good thing is that the dishdrawer style is easy on the back since loading requires zero bending. And it's super quiet too. We had a problem with a switch but it was under warranty and was taken care of by the company which was nice though the repairman must have been to our house at least 10 times and the top washer was unusable for a long time. I think this is the perfect machine for a two-person household who do not use thier dishwasher much. But it's pretty expensive not to be able to use it.
If you vale your money and sanity, don't waste both on Fisher Paykel dish drawers. We have two DS 603I drawers on each side of the sink. We completed a major renovation and my wife had to have the "look" of paneled, integrated dish drawers. After one year, we have had 6 repairs and one flooded kitchen. Within a few months of installation, the face panels began to warp and you could barely open the drawers. The technician blames the design and the builder. The builder blames the design and the technician. The "local" Fisher rep has yet to appear. I should have Googled this item before wasting our money and if you do, you will see many complaints, particularly flood switch errors. We had several of those before the entire unit failed and water came gushing out onto the wood floors. It's a miracle I forgot to lock the front door that night or I would not have been lucky enough to discover the leak until morning.
