Paul Simon is something rare and wonderful today and anyday; that is, he is a true innovator. Of course, what that means exactly is not always clear. Paul Simon did not invent a new kind of music as much as he reinvented people's attitudes about music....

Pros: Wonderfully exotic and lively. Awesome feel-good album.
Cons: Not for no-nonsense rock fans.

You can always tell a great album by this simple rule. If the other songs make the hit single sound like horse-pucky, then it’s a great album. “Graceland” fits that definition in all four suits.
