The Sennheiser PX100 is a compact headphone at a budget price of about 30 pounds in the UK (about $50). It has a party trick whereby it folds up and fits into a small plastic case that is about the same size as a spectacles case. The main band is made from stainless steel sheathed in plastic, and comes in three sections joined by metal hinges in the same manner as spectacles. The earphones also turn through 90 degrees to aid storage. The overall finish and build quality seem excellent and the unit should last as long as it is not abused. Where the headphone scores highly is its sound quality, which is excellent. While not in the same league as my Sennheiser HD600 (costing about $400), it easily walked over my Sony MDR-V300 (costing about $50), providing significantly more detail and depth. The PX100 also walked over the headphones supplied with my Creative Zen Micro MP3 player: the difference was massive, and anyone using the supplied headphones is missing out big time. This is an excellent headphone, and highly recommended for use with portable audio devices such as MP3 players.

A friend gave me a pair of these as a gift and they're fantastic. I've given them as gifts to others and everyone loves them. This model is good for me because it allows some outside sound in so that my colleagues at work can get my attention if they need to. The sound quality is amazing.

As the title sells, these headphones sound superb, delivering excellent audio quality at all points of the spectrum ... bass, midrange and treble. They have a unique folding design which takes a bit of getting used to ... you may feel like you're doing one of those chain link puzzles when you first attempt to fold it properly to get it back in its case, but after a few times, you'll get used to it. The construction itself is solid and surprisingly tolerant of accidental abuse. The whole set is light enough, comfortable, with well-constructed vinyl-covered foam pads placed in good locations at the top. The speaker pads themselves are the standard, coarse-cell foam pads, but are well attached. Cord is about four feet long, of standard quality, shaped like a "Y" descending from the bottom of the headphone speakers to a junction about one foot below.

Pros: Crisp Highs, low-low rumbling bass, very satisfying and comfortable.

Sennheiser just makes fine products, and this is probably the leader among portable mimi cans comparing very closely to the old trusty Koss Porta-Pro. Strong frame, clever folding technique, lightweight, and great value for money.
