I don't really know how good or bad this machine is because it's the first sewing machine I have ever had. It has a drop in bobbin, I don't know what other kinds of bobbin's there are but its super easy to load. Threading the top is kind of complex but I think it's complex on any machine.
So far I have sewn 3 quilt tops with it. Changing the needle is super easy. It came with a bunch of feet and lots of stitch options. I have been very happy with it and taught myself how to quilt on it with just book, the internet and the machine :)
