Pros: Easy to use, energy efficient, holds a lot, QUIET, works perfectly. Cons: Deep drum, sometimes items get "lost" in the back, hard to reach.
I must say after reading the other reviews of this dryer that I am extremely pleased with my dryer, and have experienced none of the problems the other reviewers have noted, thank goodness. We bought this dryer in concert with the He3 washer when we ...
Pros: Large capacity. If you can fit it in the washer, the dryer will dry it. Cons: Expensive!
We really didn't need a new dryer. It was the washing machine that quit, after all -- the dryer still worked fine. Still, when you get a new washer, particularly one of the HE3 Elites, it is pretty hard not to succumb to the temptation to just upgrade the ...
Pros: Electronic controls easy to understand, ease of use, wide opening.
Cons: Pricey, when stacked awkward to reach the controls.
UPDATE - September 12, 2007 My Kenmore dryer is STILL working and drying just fine. I have had my chimney sweep technician to cleaned the dryer vent when he did the chimney. It now works even better. The only problem that I have had was a thermostat ...
Pros: Great washer/dryer, lots of options, saves water/elec Cons: Horrible service, incompetent and dangerous install practices
Please see the attached letter I have sent to Sears regarding the Kenmore HE3t washer and dryer: Sears National Customer Relations 3333 Beverly Road Hoffman Estates, IL 60179 Sears: Please note that your installers are putting people’s ...
Pros: Looks great! Cons: Quality control problem right from the start--can't use it.
After purchasing this product two weeks ago (along with a matching front load washer), I wish I could tell you that I've been able to use this dryer. So far, I've had nothing but problems with Sears, the store where I bought it. First, we bought ...
Pros: Quiet in operation. Wide range of drying options Cons: Shoddy rear venting installation
Product failed after 2 weeks of use
We purchased this dryer asking it for be side venting. On the fourth attempt Sears managed to deliver a side vented dryer. At the time we felt the side venting looked shoddy but since the delivery people and everyone we spoke to at Sears told us this was ...
Pros: none so far Cons: Too much money for a machine that does not work properly.
I purchased the HE3 washer and dryer. The dryer does not cool down on any of the automatic cycles. So you can not get the clothes out of the dryer and folded or hung up soon enough to prevent wrinkles. The clothes are HOT. The inside of the drum is ...
Pros: Very large tub; can hold lots of clothes; nice selection of cycles; gentle Cons: Alert signal too low in sound
We purchased the Kenmore Elite HE3 Electric Dryer to match the new HE 3 washer. They are lovely and huge-looking especially if you purchase the pedestals as well. However, you cannot fit standard-size bottles of liquid detergent, softeners, etc. in the pedestals so basically their sole purpose is to raise the machines off the floor so you don't have to stoop down to load and unload and to protect the machines in case of a flood. This particular model does have wrinkle feature and when selected will just run the dryer every few minutes after the initial cycle is completed to freshen clothes if you can't take them out as soon as the alert signal goes off. Incidentally, the alert signal on both the washer and dryer are hard to hear even when turned up the loudest they will go so may not be a good choice if you have hearing problems and rely on the alert signal to inform you of a completed cycle. Lots of features but not sure worth the money and any new dryer on the market today can probably do just as good of job.
I'm on my 3rd HE3 Kenmore Dryer and still counting. I had the door reversed on the first dryer. After it was delivered the door kept popping open. Sears sent a repairman who decided that bending the door would fix it! Can you believe he bent the door of a brand new $800 dryer!!! Well, that didn't work. He told me the door is popping open because I had the door reversed. So I didn' t reverse the second new dryer's door. This dryer had it's own problems. Everytime I turned it on it would blow the circuit breaker! Enter 3rd new dryer....Door not reversed....Can you guess what happened when I tried to use it??? The Door Pops Open!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sears claims they've never had this problem before. The only way I can keep the door closed is to slam it like a Mac Truck!! I'm disgusted with Sears and Kenmore. I'm now waiting for their customer service person to call me. Meanwhile I have clothes hanging to dry all over my house. What a sight......
Pros: Quiet, pretty little red lights in the dark easy to operate. Cons: ALarm sound too low and yes the pedestals do not hold normal size washing products
So far I have no problems with both of the Machines. Iam Happy , I have large dogs with a lot of blankets too clean. plus they work almost in silence. bit spendy but it is worth it.
HE3 quiet but doesn't dry by abhester3 ,Sep 04 '07
Pros: Quiet, stacks for space saving Cons: Doesn't dry well at anything approaching a normal load, expensive
Replaced conventional dryer with 'high efficiency' and, like all too often, 'high efficiency' means it ALMOST does the job at hand... Even on 'More Dry' it often leaves laundry damp, even with a level laundry hamper load and not all jeans, towels, etc., requiring it to be run again which defeats the 'high efficiency' aspect of the machine! This is a real problem if, like around here, your laundry isn't always taken out at the end of the cycle and mildews requiring to be washed again... The laundry loads are the same as the old machine, which worked fine until it simply wore out.
On the plus side it is quiet and has many settings for various types of laundry. Also, it stacks to save space.
Pros: It drys things when it's working. (It IS marketed as a dryer, after all.) Cons: Expensive repairs needed within 3 years of purchase.
After 2.5 years of light use (there are only 2 of us in the house) our Kenmore elite stopped working, evidently because the door switch failed. The first Sears repair person didn't have the part on her truck, so it was mailed to us - WITHOUT the repair part (only the gasket was in the package)! The repair cost about $170, so if your dryer door doesn't shut absolutely smoothly, call for a repair before your warranty expires. If this dryer breaks down again, I'll replace it with a different brand rather than sink more money into this one. I haven't found the dryer to be extraordinary in any way other than needing a costly repair when it was still fairly new.
