Pros: Value for money, lots of RAM and hard disk space, great feature set overall.
Cons: Sudden shutdowns, airflow circulation BAD, CD/DVD drive heats up a LOT.

Sudden heat-related shutdowns are still a problem with this laptop. The intake fans are located on the bottom of the laptop, so if you put it on a flat surface it will shut down suddenly because there isn't enough air intake. So the circulation was extremely poorly designed.

I have had to use two small chocolate boxes to elevate the back of the machine. This of course means that everytime I need to use the CD/DVD drive, I have to lift up the computer. For the amount of money I paid, this is not acceptable.

Other than that, the product is good. However, sudden shutdowns are just completely unacceptable to me. It's like a car that suddenly stalls on the freeway and crashes.

The CD/DVD drive also has heating problems. Overall, these problems can get extremely annoying very quickly.

its been a good machine but big and heavy. chassis is weak and flexes and creaks. finish came off of buttons and keys. case shows tons of scratches and spots where finish came off. gets very hot and shuts offbut only in bed where vents are blocked. Tech support not so good. They couldn't sell me the little rubber feet that fell off so I had to find them at an online store and order them for 5 bucks apiece. They also didn't believe that I owned the computer because they were SHOCKED that I hadn't registered it yet. LIke I'm the only person to not immediately register their machine. And it started having a stripe on the screen where the color was lighter. Still usable and not all that noticeable but it kind of ruined the experience. They wouldn't pay to repair it (it was over a year) and it would have been very expensive. I unloaded it on someone else for 400 bucks.
