Pros: Light enough to be handheld for extended periods. Cons: Loses satellite lock. Poor navigation ability. Not dependable.

Pros: waterproof/floatable, acceptable signal Cons: cheap design. long signal acquisition time, stress cracks equals low durability

Good Starter GPS

Pros: Ease of use, ability to download maps Cons: poorly constructed
I have owned this for 2 years now (my second GPS). I have had good luck with the accuracy as well as the compatibility with TOPO USA. I like almost everything about the unit, except for the construction. I noticed stress cracks on the front panel, and the screw holding the battery pack in broke.
