Pros: Compact, clear signal, good range, easy to use. Cons: Rechargeable feature doesn't work well- Use AAs.
The compact Midland GXT 325 radios are self-contained powerful and private means of communication. These aren't your childhood walkie-talkies, but instead have real power, where they work well through building walls and from inside cars, and across ...

Pros: Durable build, good battery options, nice appearance. Cons: Privacy function is too irritating to be useful..our main gripe.
Note: Apparently, the GXT-325VP 7 channel model covers the non-licensed low-power FRS channels 8 thru 14. We couldn't find a review site for our 22 channel system, so we enter it here. Manual title page: Midland X-TRA TALK GMRS/FRS ...

Awesome Product
by cfellers ,Feb 25 '05
Pros: Quality, Battery, Feel in Hand, Sound Quality, Backlight Cons: None.
This product is incredible. I looked hard at Uniden, Motorola, Cobra, and Midland. Product was purchased at Best Buy for $69.99 with a $10 mail in Rebate. As a companion, I also purchased the GXT200 pair for $25 with a $5 rebate. This gives a flexibility of 4 Midland Devices for $80.00! What I like about the GXT325 is that it has a charging unit for both radios and they use NIMH batteries as opposed to NiCd. NiCd has memory and NiMh does not. Be leaving one in the base unit it can act as a base station for my kids and while out on the boat, can easily phone home without Cell charges. The sound quality is excellent and it feels great in the hand. GXT325 is a 3watt for GMRS and the GX200 is a 2Watt for GMRS. You cannot go wrong with these devices. Oh btw, the GX200 will also accept the NiMH battery pack and charge in the same base as the GXT325. Hurray for Midland.
