Pros: Very portable
Cons: Screen is too small. Poor Quality. Scratches easily.

I bought this unit because I'm deployed to the desert and needed an entertainment system. This product was one of several that I looked at, and I settled on this one for the price. What a mistake!

First, the screen's too small. I'd get a headache just trying to watch it more than 2 feet away.

Second, it would freeze all the time when playing DVDs. At first I thought it was because some of the DVDs I put in had a few scratches on them. But the same thing occurred when I put in my brand new unscratched DVDs. Finally, after 45 days of screen freezes, the unit stopped working altogether. I got the dreaded "no disc" error. According to the manual, it means the player is defective. So I returned it to the store and exchanged it for the bigger 7" model Mintek MDP-1770.

Third, the player gets scratched very easily. It wasn't even handled roughly, yet it got scratched.

Pros: Inexpensive, great picture & sound when it worked.
Cons: Unreliable, remote control and most buttons on machine itself don't work.

I guess the old adage of "you get what you pay for" is true. This was very inexpensive and I'm paying for it now. The remote control doesn't work. Only some of the controls on the DVD player itself work. After some use, there's a problem with the picture going black or wavy lines on the screen. I should have spent a little more money and maybe I would have gotten a DVD player that actually worked.

Pros: Worked well at the beginning. Easy to use. Long battery life.
Cons: Poor customer service and product quality.

I purchased this portable DVD player in August. Within a month I had to send it back for repairs, as the power connection and headphone connection jacks were loose. I was lied to three times by the customer service department who said my unit shipped and then it turned out it didn't. By the time I receive the supposedly new unit, I will have been without it for nearly 2 months because of their poor customer service. Watch out!
