Since the franchise’s inception back in the mid-1990’s, the Need for Speed series has been about 2 things – fast, exotic cars and tricky, shortcut-laden courses to race them on. The previous entry in the series, Hot Pursuit 2, was the culmination of this ...
Pros: Cool presentation. Cons: The game gets off to a slow start.
The Need for Speed series was always a street racing game with an edge since they were famous for breaking some rules. You usually had to race as fast and as wild as you want across open roads while you out run your competition and even the local cops. ...
This game is definitely made for the Need For Speed series - it has noticeable characteristics NFS fans will recognize right away. Elastic-like driving feel (too much or too little and you're done), detailed backgrounds, and amazing car graphics are ...
Pros: Amazing graphics, nice transition to faster cars through the game, music Cons: Unavoidable traffic, tracks get old after a while
NFS Underground may be the best driving game I've played. It's just a lot of fun and has a lot of cool effects and absolutely stunning graphics. It also doesn't have any programming bugs as far as I know: the game has never hung up and required ...
Pros: Hot cars, fast tracks, and a good soundtrack. What more do you need? Cons: Loading time is a bit slow, but it's a very graphic game.
I am not familiar with the older games in the Need for Speed series (though after reading some of the reviews here I will have to go rent them), nor any of the other racing games for the Playstation 2. I was playing SSX 3 and I viewed the trailer for ...
Pros: Great successor to the NFS series. Insane modification options. Cons: NFS:U is a little more than the PS2 can handle. Could do without drift mode.
Let's face it. NFS:Underground should be called "The Fast And The Furious". NFS:Underground is the latest in a long line of Need For Speed games stretching back as far as I can remember. Undergound takes you from the usual street-racing NFS type game to ...
Pros: Customization for cars are awesome, graphically great! Cons: Levels are repetitive, game becomes a hassle
With the recent hit movie,2 Fast 2 Furious, you can't help but get the thought that a game where you could do exactly what you just saw would be incredible. Also the thought of completely customizing a car without spending the thousands of dollars ...
Pros: Great graphics and good gameplay. Extremely enjoyable at times Cons: Terrible music and can drive you insane on some races.
This is a game that involves races and cars that most people don't see. Everything happens under the cover of night so that the public eye isn't aware. This is the main premise of Need for Speed: Underground. You'll race though a total of 111 races to ...
Pros: Fast, enjoyable, unique. All around best racing game out. Cons: None! Go Buy it!
I have always been a fan of the Need For Speed games. My previous favorite was NFS Hot Pursuit. NFS Underground surpasses all other racing games in all aspects. I bought this game for the holidays hoping that I could satisfy my Need for Speed. I had ...
Need For Speed: Underground (NFSU afterwards) is the seventh regular game in EA's long-living arcade racing series. A they developed a racing series called the ''Underground Mode'', complete with ranking lists and all, but made it into a very linear ...
Pros: Nice cars, great graphics, interesting idea for a street-racing game. Cons: Forward visibility is bad, repetitive play, winning should be more important than decals.
I'll be honest. I just got this for Christmas, and I wish I had rented it first. I LOVE racing games, and would probably keep it anyway, but I don't think it will appeal to every casual racing game fan. The gameplay is fun - I'll get that out of the ...
Pros: over 200 ways to trick your car out, and online play Cons: you can't explore to maps, like Midnight Club 1 and 2
This action-packed thrill ride of tweeked out speed demons, is the racing game i've waited for all my life. Graphics 10/10 The graphics of this game is incredible, not just the cars but the backgrounds too! you can tell that this was no easy job. ...
All who have a need for speed, have a need for this game. by lilfento ,Nov 20 '04
Pros: Make your own car and race it on or off line verses anyone. Cons: Sometimes your car just isn't fast enough yet.
I first bought this game to be able to build my own car and race my buddies once my car was good enough. This game shows how good ps2's graphics has gotten through the years, by giving you one of the best images of cars and streets as you race your way to the top of the Underground Racing League (URL). The new features from the first underground game is the new StreetX races, racing a number of laps on tight slippery tracks, the ability to drive around and do what you want before entering a race, and the new feature of challenging other racers to an outrun match right then and there. Even if you are not that into cars, this game will make you like them more then you did with the way you can make your car unique from everyone elses by many different ways. Another thing about this game is the length of it. It's not one of them games were you go buy it and beat it within a few days. It is very lengthy and each new race present new challenges.

Pros: fast paced good handling while being able to modify your car. Cons: levels get repetitive.
I found this game to be highly involved, fast moving with tons of personalized treats. Trick out your ride and try to built your street credit by beating the local talent. moving up the ranks by winning races gives you cash to pimp your ride.
The fast and the furious the game? by guitarguy612 ,Dec 28 '03
Pros: Sweet cars, even cooler upgrades, new race modes. Cons: Missions get boring after a while.
I know it's been said, but I'll say it again, this IS the Fast and the Furious as a computer game with less women. But what it lacks in women, it makes up in cool cars and sweet upgrades. Need for speed underground lives up to it's name, bringing you into the underground of street racing the way they (the makers of the game and the general public) invision it. It makes the racing more glamourous then it is, but a good game none the less. I especially like the new modes of racing like drag and drifting. The only other NFS I've played is III so I don't know how it compares to the other games, but I can definetly say that it is the best racing game out there right now. I'd say it's main competition is Midnight Club II, which is not nearly as cool when it comes down to it. NFSU is a great game, and super fun, especially for a car lover. I suggest renting it before you buy it though.
