Pros: Easy to use, great remote. Headphone surround a godsend for late night viewing. Cons: Minimal front panel display. Mushy buttons. Provided A/V cable is poor quality. Some menus confusing.
We had a twelve year old Optimus (Radio Shack) single disc CD player, plus a two and a half year old Pioneer multi disc DVD player. Both of them died at almost the same time. I decided it would be best to replace both units with DVD players, one being a ...

Don't buy from Panasonic! Lemon!!
by hk52005 ,Aug 13 '07
Pros: none Cons: Lemon
I've had this dvd player for a year and a half. I bought it because it was recommended by Consumer Reports. It is having trouble reading my dvds. It makes loud noises while tryng to read even brand new dvds. Sometimes, if I feel like fiddling with the darn thing for an hour it may or may not play my cd. Or it will stop at scene 3 and then it will not skip to that scene so I end up having to watch from th beginning and even then it fails again. A standard 2 hour movie ends up taking 3 hours of my time. I get "unable to read format" messages of dvds I have watched before on the same player. Panasonic does not stand by their products. I have already tried contacting Panasonic and they tell me to get it repaired. I know I'll end up spending more than it's worth repairing and how do I know if it won't break again.
I will never purchase a Panasonic product again.
