Pros: Great picture, sound and value, lots of inputs Cons: Weird casters, tv/video selection slow, 16:9 takes getting used to
When we moved into our second house I made sure that my wife understood that I would need to be compensated for all of my hard work with a big screen TV. Hey, the house had that large built in cubby with the cable jacks and outlets that needed to be ...
Pros: It's on wheels. Great 'Justify' Mode. Plenty of Component inputs. Cons: Bad Geometry controls. No Digital inputs or tuner. Poor Image Contrast (too dark) Blah.
There are plenty of other reviews that give all the hi-tech information about this television, but I just want to give you my general impression of the this tv. I love how this HDTV is on wheels, making it easier to move and get behind without having ...
Pros: Split Screen PIP, Multi-size PIP, Lots of RCA inputs, Cons: No Protective Screen, Manual Convergence
Hello there,
Wow, projection TV's have come a long ways from the first models. Now a days you can't even tell sometimes that its a projection. The looks, the design and other features look just like a tube television. The brightness has...
Pros: Great picture, excellent value. Cons: No auto convergence and no individual input buttons on remote.
I've had this unit for about 3 months now and have put it to use enough to where I think I can give a good review. First off, we know this is one of the less expensive projection HDTVs on the market, I picked mine up on sale at circuit city for $1,350...
Pros: Low price, great sound system, brilliant picture.
Cons: no screen protection, lacks auto-convergence
Wow! how technologically advanced TVs have become. This is my first projection screen TV. The model number is PT-47WX42 which stands for 47 Wide X 42 High. The height to width ratio is similar to a movie theatre screen. This was one of the most ...
Pros: great picture, inputs, 2 tuner PIP, value, easy to move, easy convergence, aspect ratios, style Cons: cant find any
After reading many reviews from pages like this, and looking at the 47WX42 in the stores, I decided this was the best buy in a wide HDTV for me. I got this and the CircuitCity 4yr coverage plan, and was still under the price of the Sony or Hitachi! I...
Pros: Ease of use, connectivity options, price vs. performance ratio Cons: tiny remote buttons, 4:3 mode doesn't look so great
I admit it.
I over-researched this purchase to the point of obsession.
By way of introduction, my previous TV, now relegated to bedroom duty, was a 27" Zenith tube TV. In upgrading, I was determined to get the best HD Monitor for...
Pros: Great price, lots of input options Cons: Screen scratched
Bought it in Brandsmart for $1098 (Fort Lauderdale, FL) March 27th. TV is great, but screen came scratched so I have to return it for another one. Great price and no other complains. Image looks good. Many input options so I have my xbox, vcr, my...
Pros: Ease of use, excellent picture Cons: wish it had a button for on/off for closed captions
I brought it to replace a 60" screen TV that was overly big for my room. So I down sized and I couldn't be happier. I was scared and almost canceled it. When It came and I turned it on,,,the picture was incredible compared to what I was watching. I'm...
Pros: Picture quality,HDTV ready,SETUP features Cons: manual convergence, not a big deal once you learn it.
My wife and I purchased this TV for $999.00 New. For the price and what you get cannot beat it. The TV has great picture quality. I do not have digital TV yet and I still enjoy my Sunday football games with clarity and color. The people are almost life size and there is no going back to the old 27 inch TV. The sound, like most TV's, is not the best. The sound to me is no different than my 27 inch samsung. I run movies through my surround sound anyway. Movies project awesome on this tv with my DVD player. Bang for buck this TV was a great buy. Manual convergence is a little learning curve but not a big deal.Convergence is gravity pulling down on the picture. You just set it up and off you go.
In the middle of a movie, the screen flickered and turned green. Still awaiting repairman...the Panasonic service personnel I talked to on the phone seem mystified at this problem but I've read other people's comments about this very same glitch so I can't be the only one...not sure if I want another Panasonic TV set...
The screen turned green after... by willione_dt3000 ,Nov 23 '02
The screen turned green after about 30 days, and we had a hard time getting a repairman. Then with a little talk with the store manager they replaced the tv, new in the box. we will what happens now.

who desire data ....STAY AWAY FROM
THIS MANUFACTURER
When I began searching for an HDTV-ready television, Panasonic wasn't really on my mind. But, I got one of those offers I couldn't refuse. A customer bought the PT47WX42, came down with a severe case of buyer's remorse, and returned the set the next day. I was able to purchase it for $1100 (it usually goes for $1400 to $1600). My wife and I couldn't be happier with both the price and especially the quality of the set.
